Hathaway should be in the lineup because 1. he is a really good player and 2. no younger player has earned his spot more. ND on the other hand I would love to be demoted to the 13th or 14th forward, but given his contract and the fact that he fights, and Torts has already stated he really likes that line, means ND will be in the lineup.

Tonight's lineup to start the season. Pick one of Brink/Forester on 3rd line and add Hathaway to 4th line. Staal and Walker on bottom pair. Hart in net. About as good as we could hope for.

I would love it if this week both Foerster and Brink play really, really well. Then it will be mighty interesting around here. Brink is coming on this camp but Foerster has the benefit of playing well in the 8 NHL games last season.

Hathaway is a good role player but I wouldn't classify him as a really good player. Young players should not be in competition with a player like Hathaway for a roster spot.

Do you know what the level of competition looks like now verse when a guy like Panarin was playing and even back to ovechkin? Is the league better now, worse, different Style?

I agree that ND will be in lineup. But I'd love to see Allison on that 4th line instead of him. I still like Zamula on D. We shall see.
