Do you think Rosen and Kulich will be a better NHL player than JJ Peterka in under two years? - TheSabresTaco
We're talking 32 point JJ, right? He's a fine player but he's not lighting up the league right now. He had an okay rookie season with ups and downs and then had a good tournament. I'm not as high on Peterka as done I've seen, I think he tops out as a 3rd line player when it's all said and done. That doesn't mean he can't contribute and be a good piece but I don't see him hitting big numbers |

and Mike Bales still has a job on the sabres coaching staff - homiedclown
The theme for Adams 789 press conferences this season will be, "I am going to take a hard look into our goalie situation, as a group we will have a dialogue and make the best decision for what we believe impacts our future" |

I say there's a 75% chance Benson gets his 9 games and 33% he stays the whole season.
- Biro is the wild card here. If they like Biro almost as much as Benson, possibly they send Benson down so they don't have to expose Biro to waiver.
- They could keep both Biro and Benson (14 forward), if they only keep 7 defensemen (Bryson waived to Rochester) and either (a) have a surprise forward cut (Jost) or trade (Oloffson), or (b) only keep 2 goalies.
- Whther or not Benson stays the whole year clearly depends on how he plays in those 1st 9 games. If he does a Reinhart (0 points in his 9 tryout games) he goes down, if he does what Ryan O'Reilly did in Colorado at 18, he stays - turbo044
Personally I would be shocked if Benson isn't on the opening night roster. I would be equally shocked if he stays up all season. |

So do you think either Kulich or Rosen will be better than him?

Unlike the Briere stats Ion posted, where I momentarily psyched myself out thinking it could’ve been Stafford, I didn’t even flinch on this one. |

Thoughts?
ESPN is creating an NHL version of 'NFL RedZone' — called ‘Frozen Frenzy’.
It launches Oct. 24th on ESPN2 with all 32 teams in action, hosted by John Buccigross.
"Fans will see every goal, every power play, and every hit."

You'd think this would be spelled out, but it's not. There's 2 types of conditioning loans:
Player consents and there's a 14 day max. We know from Shane Wright that 5 scratches allows it under the CHL agreement, but seems like that's just CHL players and only allowed once per season. We know from Grigorenko that the commissioner can step in and deny.
After a long term injury, the team can assign a player for 6 days or 3 games, without consent, and can request an extension. - Lunaion
Does this mean the player was on IR? Otherwise, what's it defined as?
Also the player consent is quite important here, you think there would be mutual agreement to get some AHL preseason.

No I'm talking about career Peterka, not rookie. I see him growing to a forechecking, two way 50-60 point forward. Certainly a nice piece to have. I think Kulich will ultimately have a similar game in the end, just their offensive skills vary a bit.

I think Kulich has a better scoring touch than Peterka and will be more of a top 6 forward whereas JJ should be your 3rd line guy who can move up if needed. |

"the Club's physician believes, in his or her
opinion, that the Player, owing to either an injury or an illness, will be unfit to play for at least (i)
twenty-four (24) calendar days and (ii) ten (10) NHL Regular Season games"
They are paid as NHL players during the assignment, so I doubt there's a fight from them.
No clue how the CHL or NHL would view it. If they have an intent to play him in the NHL after, it seems reasonable. If they don't, I could see them rejecting it. |

Peterka's playmaking went to another level during his one season in the AHL.
I haven't seen that level of playmaking yet from Kulich. |

What percentage would you say are his chances of making the team for the whole season?
I'd set mine at 1%, and that's only if the team has a season long injury to two of their top RW's, or Quinn ends up being out for the season. - kingcong39
33% make and stay, 33% make and go back, 33% don't make. I have no reason for these figures outside of gut feeling and him getting so much top line and PP time. |
