agreed, if benson wasn't in their plans they wouldn't have played him multiple times with Skinner and Tage and wouldn't have him as a centerpiece of PP1. Would seem counterproductive.

It's also fair to point out they had absolutely no idea it would be Benson at 13 when the deal was made.

I am glad they didn't make the trade but has more to do with chychrun and less benson falling to them, although that was nice too.

Benson is still getting PP minutes and skating on the top line.

I would think he’s on the opening night roster. Seems pretty late into the preseason for him to still be getting these looks if the intent was to send him down.

Benson looks great, but I'll be totally honest idc about any individual player as much as I do them breaking the god damn drought.

I wonder had Savoie not gotten hurt, if he would be riding with Peterka and Cozens right now.

Olofsson is clearly in the lineup for what he can do on special teams, have to think that forward line would get the least even strength time on ice this year like the kid line got last season.

Means that the Mits and Larry line get the matchup minutes, and the Tage line gets predominantly o-zone starts.

There has to date been absolutely no statistical significance between pre season effort/impact/results and regular season performance.

I also doubt anyone's mood on this team, good or bad, changes if they are 7-0. Most would probably say "its just pre season"

I mean, yeah? I don't read into it the same way. I'm looking for different things with Benson than I would for any of the vets. These guys are all rusty to an extent so sharpness isn't what I'm after. For Benson in particular, it's just seeing if he looks like he can hang. Can he keep up with the pace enough that it warrants an extended look beyond the pre season.

For the NHL guys idk. I can't bring it in myself to lose my poop because Dahlin doesn't look sharp yet. I mean the guys been not playin NHL games for 4 months, did I think he would?
