It’s clearly over your head, the importance of veteran leadership
You just don’t get it , never will
KA the top 3gm gets it - Boss34
Veteran leadership is a must on any young team. Also helps if that leadership knows how to win and push a young team to do that. Neither Girgensons or Okposo have ever done that. |

Didn’t we learn anything from eichel and surrounding him with bad influences and leadership? - Boss34
If Girgs and Okpsoso are that leadership, then you'd have to say no.

No, they are putting Levi in a similar situation.
Your bar for veteran leadership is too low, the players on the roster are bums. - washedup20
I watch the games too
Strongly disagree |

Should they name 23 year old dahlin or cozens at 22 as captain? |

2/3rds of the fan base doesn't get it.
Will you say the same if the boys fail to make the playoffs? |

By most accounts, Dahlin is the true leader of the team, so I'd go with him.
Assuming he 'wants to be here'. |

This is the point that is underrated when bringing up bad Captain Eichel.
Just where the Freakin-A were they when all this poop was going down? Why didn't they stop it? Why weren't they more vocal in stopping a 23 yo brat from screwing the the pooch? Why won't anyone ask those questions? Difficult answers to be sure. |

Dahlin no doubt, absolutely no doubt. He IS the heartbeat of that team. He challenges others in practice, he drives the play both ways. Leader on and off.
Tuch and Cozens should be Alternate Captains.
Dahlin is the antithesis of Eichel.
Wtf does age have to do with it....it is ALL about maturity.

Neither biro (who cleared waivers) nor rousek bring 625 games of nhl experience to a very young inexperienced squad - Boss34
it's not an inexperienced squad anymore
skinner, tage, tuch, casey, jost, okposo, girgens, olofsson, e. johnson, dahlin, joker, clifton
these guys all have SEVERAL nhl years under their belt
the young team excuse, aside from net, is a cop out excuse at this point |

I think it's an easy answer: they are a respected veteran presence more so than leaders.
Dahlin's played 5 full seasons. Needs a 6th to wear a C?

Mentioned it here before and to sbroads on twitter but I think Jake Richard (6th rounder 2022) is their best steal of this draft era.
The signs were there his draft year but he just keeps getting better. |

crosby played 2 seasons before he was captain
either they are the man or they are a man
age does not matter for captain IMO, maturity however does matter

What if the analytic department for amateur scouting was just using Google maps to see if the prospect grew up on a cul-de-sac? |

Cap friendly has him at 5’11 165, UConn website has him at 6’1 194…
Do you trust our institutional universities founded on the basis of higher education or some nerds with a private site? |

I think the CapFriendly height and weight is from his draft year, which is why I asked. |
