I assume we all agree on these projections

You need to move Bruins down about 3 levels...

i dont know why people say stuff like that without looking at simple stats.

The jays as a team were 24th in strikeouts. Or they were 7th best to put another way.

- senstroll

April and May Stats vs September and October Stats - would you like to try this on?
On the last game I attended this season - last Tuesday, Vladdy watched two juicy pitches over the heart of the plate for called strikes. the third pitch was a couple of feet off the plate which he swung at and missed for a strike out with the bases loaded. The Jays out hit the Twins in game two but failed to get a meaningful hit. The pick off of Vladdy and Bo running into an out at home were bush league brutal plays. Jays were full merit for the loss.

There's lots of big fat (frank)s playing baseball, that's nothing new.

Who the (frank) cares, he is producing results as a MLB player.

Absolutely is fat shaming.

Kirk doesn't owe you poop.

millions of people are overweight and unhealthy putting stress on the healthcare system, how would you like some random person commenting on your weight or health?

People need to stop being losers with this, sports don't matter that much.

- Santo_44

If he was in better shape do you not think he could have had even better production?

Isn't the role of a professional athlete to be the best athlete you can be?
Can you honestly say Kirk this year was the best he could be?

Maybe? Maybe not?

The whole point of sports is to produce.

Kessel could have been way better conditioned and probably would have been even better of a player.

He contributed to 2 cups and helped on a 3rd.

Fans think athletes owe them something, they do not. Kirk is a good baseball player and thats all I care about. How good he wants to be is up to him, just like every other athlete on the planet.

Athletes don't owe us anything, if he can help the Jays win over other catchers out there then great.

People fat shaming Kirk are losers.

Just watch him play baseball he's 240 and short as (frank) as a starter in the MLB, go complain about something else or lose weight yourself ffs

- Santo_44

Oh ffs.
No one is fat shaming.
I said he could afford to lose a few pounds.

The pick off at 2nd of vladdy was the only time a blue jay player had ever been picked off at 2nd in the playoffs and is probably one of the dumbest plays in blue jay history.
The bo one is a little more forgivable (after rewatching it), correa made the perfect throw while off balance and the ball was a fair distance away when he rounded 3rd.

Well he gets paid tons of money by the team we cheer for so ...

1) We have a right to criticize him if he could be better, and isn't.
2) It's up to the Team, not him. If can't be bothered to get in better shape, maybe they trade him. Just like maybe they trade Vladd because he seems so disinterested lately.

You automatically assume it's "fat shaming" when it could be as simple as expecting a professional athlete to take interest in being better for the team the fan cheers for...

I'm being serious.

Bruins are a bubble team. How does a team easily overcome the loss of 1C and 2C in the same offseason?

Not to mention the 1C lost is a future Hall of Famer...

They’re both big tubbies. One was an Hall of Famer, the other an All Star and Siver Slugger in his second season, is a .268 career hitter and good catcher. I also seem to recall that chubby David Wells could pitch. I’m not worried about Kirk dieting this off season.

Kirk ain't them. Being worried about his weight is totally an understandable thing.

Not fat shaming at all. Saying that both him and Manoah, who absolutely need to lose weight, isn't an attack.

He is slow and would benefit greatly from athletic training. That is no secret to ANYONE in all of baseball. The same is said of Vlad. Did you notice how good he looked after losing a bunch of weight before? This year he has definitely backslid in his training regimen and it shows.

It should be noted that three players who had ridiculously subpar years all came to camp this year significantly larger than they were last year and did NOTHING to improve it: Manoah, Kirk and Vlad all had very, very poor years by the standards they have established.

This isn't fat shaming. This is a shame that it's a fact. As a professional athlete you are paid for your performance and if your performance suffers as a result of your poor preparation and training, it's a problem.

- Monkeypunk

Manoah is a big (frank)ing dude. Tall as (frank). So it's understandable that he'd weigh more. That being said, he 100% came into camp this year at an unacceptable weight. They reported that he was well over 300.

One of them didn't play a lot of this season because of it and when he did, wasn't good. And the other was visibly overworked, because he was thrust into full time starter.

Get to a healthier weight and it's not a thing.
