My dads buddy was the President of some bigshot insurance place, and they had season tickets. Man, that was (frank)ing awesome. Private box under the Platinum seats. Get free eats and drinks, since it all went on the company card.
So we head there before the game and at half time. And when at the seats, the lady in the box would bring our drinks to us. She loved us, since she always got a massive tip. - GreatGigInTheSky

I like the CFL's rules.
Plus, it's great to have a team that when they get to the finals, literally never lose.
I feel like if Rose played as good as he could for the Rock, they'd have won multiple times over the past few years. The team is just so good, that they should be winning it all. - GreatGigInTheSky
I'll be blunt - I don't like Rose very much. Rose has failed to be a big game goalie for most of his career from what I can tell. I'm a notorious goalie-hater and my friends like to poke fun at me for it, but I felt that last year despite Rose's decent numbers overall, we were out-goaltended in about 80% of our games win or lose. There were games where our offense owned the slot and put up 65 shots, and our defense closed down our end and allowed 40 perimeter shots and the final score was like 11-10. Rose has to do more than stand around and be fat. I will 100% caveat that statement by saying I have no idea what it's like to be a lacrosse goalie - because the shots can come from almost any level and have different release points, power and so on. I'm sure it's quite hard, but last year, other goalies seemed better at it.
That said, I'm really looking forward to this year. We moved our season tickets to right by the Home team tunnel by the bench - so as long as I can stop calling Rose names, I'll probably be allowed to stay and watch the games!

No, I agree with you completely. You can see it in Rose that he has the ability to be excellent, he just hardly ever reaches it, and continuously fails in the playoffs. Whether it be the other goalie just straight up outplaying him or Rose falling flat on his face, with every shot going in. It seems like he doesn't have the best mentality to be a goalie. Like, he blames himself and takes it to heart. |

Does anyone know of an online hockey pool that uses the weekly picks formula like SN did?
I’ve been using it for over a decade and have a really good league going |

Saw that. Don't know why Edmonton is that high, but I guess McJesus.
Still think they're like, 5th best in the West, though. |

First and foremost, I hated trading Moreno from the get. Absolutely hated it. But Varshow is the best defensive player in baseball, arguably.
I think next season, with an actual hitting coach, he'll do better. Moron hitting coach had him move through 3 separate batting stances this season. That's actually insane.
But I agree, Atkins' time has run out. |

So Cup Favourites: Carolina / Edmonton:
Every year I think Carolina is better than they are and last year they were slightly worse, despite making it further into the conference finals. Are they better with Bunting and Orlov compared to say . . . Stastny and De Haan? I'd say so, but I would note that all of their key critical players, with the exception of Aho and Svechnikov, are on the wrong side of 28. Burns is 38, and both injury-prone goalies are 34.
Edmonton was a much different team with Ekholm in the fold. He'll be 34 before the season ends, but he provides their back-end with a stability it hasn't seen since Pronger. No, he isn't Pronger by any stretch, but his effect on the whole core back there could be almost as effective - if for no other reason than playing Nurse less. They have goaltending issues, but they have an excellent offense coupled with much better depth simply augmented by the addition of Brown - and I can't imagine 27 year old McDavid stepping back.
I would sincerely say that I think Carolina is in the next category down, but Edmonton is probably my favourite in the west right now - if Colorado had all their guys, they'd be in that mix, too. In the East I like NYR, Toronto, Jersey and Carolina all a fair bit - but I'm not sold that Boston without centre depth will be a contender.
Playoff Calibre teams: Winnipeg? Based on what? I like the Jets. I watch a lot of Jets games. Was Calgary's problem only the coach? I guess we'll see. I don't know how Seattle is an outsider after their success last year. Especially ranked lower than Vancouver, Winnipeg and Calgary. It smacks of nationalism and bias.

I miss AA too, man.
The loss of Moreno hurts even more when you factor in that Jansen is cursed and gets hurt every season. And then we gotta run Kirk more and he can't handle it becasue he's iN garbage shape.
Going into next season, Kirk and Manoah 1 million % need to hit the gym and lose weight. |

im biased, I love the way Varsho plays. I cant get enough great defense.
at the moment, the better play was probably keep Moreno and trade Kirk.
but it wasnt a move based on 1 season.
they still have Varsho arb rights for 3 more seasons (kirk also)
also Kirk had a pretty redic 2022 season for a catcher his age. It was tough to move him with that in mind.
anyway fix the offence and keep as much of the pitching and D as you can..and its a lot more fun to watch the Jays |

Personally I think they make the dance. Solid tenders and core (d and up front) good coaching and a season to figure out cash/cap and make a couple moves. |

Using last year's standings, they could be 42 points worse this year and still grab the final wildcard.
That's franking unreal.
