There is always a scape goat. Doesn't matter how his numbers are. It is very easy to focus on a player and find negative plays.

Gryz is not underrated, he's a bottom pairing defensman thats too small to move people from in front of the net, he's was billed a Krug-lite and thats about what he is.

Once again, yea. He’s cheaper, not at the age where decline is expected, and has actually been in a top pairing role and thrived.

I also don’t really care what the average NHL coach would do. Your guy is pretty good, and he still tried Forbort-McAvoy. I watched Paul Maurice flounder my team for years.

He's a 5'9 / 175 lb non-physical D-man.
His point totals are meh and his playoff numbers are even meh-er.
Everything about him screams mediocrity.

"...been in a top pairing role and thrived" ... What?
He's only ever played for Bruins, so which year you figure he "thrived" in a top pairing role?

That was basically what life was when Dennis Wideman was here.

Every time he’s played with McAvoy.
His underlying numbers are also strong, and have been for a long time.

Are you in the most roundabout way possible lobbying for Winnipeg to acquire Gryz? Just say it buddy. No one in Boston dislikes Gryz, he's from here for (frank) sakes. He's been a very good Bruin. But Lohrei will most likely make him expendable. Such is life.

We have too many lefties as is. You can have Dillon, if you want? You already saved us from keeping Forbort. He owes half his deal to Hellebuyck
