All the video on MM and this, does give hope - wcorvette
If he continues to develop and MM eventually comes over and doesn’t end up as cannon fodder in Ukraine, then I don’t think this is a 10 yr rebuild.

Probably the most frustrating GM in Flyers history. To not pick a lane to stay in and waste years of G and Jake was brutal. Go for it or don’t. At least Fletcher sucked so bad we got a rebuild out of it. I’m still amazed that Dubas cleaned up that Hexy mess so quick. Time will tell if they are good but he at least gave that roster a jolt |

As will I. Theyre a fun, young team to watch
Hopefully we can say the same about the flyers this season |

I’m not certain dubas cleaned the mess up. I think there was a very limited amount hextall could do in pitt. What has dubas done? He’s mortgaged every bit of the future for what? Another playoff run where pitt will lose? They’re not contenders. It’s going to be a 10 year rebuild after Cindy goes.
The real answer was to rebuild straight away but hextall wasn’t allowed to do that. Sign and trade malkin. Maybe letang and get a ton of assets to re stock. They’re stuck in neutral trying to acomodate one more run for sid. It’s a no win job for a gm. |

Also, the most frustrating gm in our history was fletch. Zero direction and gross incompetency. |

Hextall was behind the 8ball. I bet that he wanted to move malkin and letang and he should have but, if I remember correctly, ownership was against that idea and wanted to give Crysby another playoff run.
Totally dumb decision. They have no chance to go on a cup run.
Making these trades only delayed their rebuild and cost them another few years of rebuild time added on to the timeframe
And I am loving every moment of it 🧡🖤 |

That folks is why you never... ever... give John Tortorella veteran role players.
It'll be the same on defense w/ Staal and Seeler. |

Based on what I've read, it seems like Seeler is a lock for the top 6.

Why in the world would you rebuild if you were Pitt? You stay competitive as long as possible with Crosby and when the runs over you pull the plug |

Hexy also pushed every wrong button possible, there’s a laundry list of errors. Just because it was a tough spot doesn’t mean you can be horrible at your job and then say oh well. |

The run is over. It's been over for a number of years. They've long been at the point where the runs have drained the prospect base and put them in a tough cap spot. To the point where they're not able to effectively build the team around the top aging stars. Every team does it and hangs on too long once at the top.

Well then Crosby leaves, he’s not hanging around for a rebuild. You kick the can down the road until you can’t. |

like flies to poop. Criticize Saint Ronnie and here comes Cliff to defend.
He was a below average GM for 2 teams. His moves in Pitt were horrible overall.
Like Chuck who had a "mandate" to win. They both failed miserably. One at least had 3 future HOF players who are still very very productive. Yet missed the playoff. |

I agree he wouldn't. Then you trade him for a treasure. The issue is the PR hit and it would anger the fanbase. It would mean a financial hit for the franchise. Lots of reasons why they wouldn't do it. Doesn't change that from a hockey standpoint. The right move was to break it up.

Jason Robertson four picks after Ratcliffe in the 2017 second round. - Dave21Brown
It wasn't necessarily not picking Robertson. It was giving up all that draft capital to jump and THEN picking an inferior player... |

This all does not excuse Hextall for the bad job he did. He knew the assignment when signing up and failed |
