my fear for this is that they are so hellbent on "sustainable success" they they will never go all in

probably going to see bridge deals for guys like quinn/peterka, then have to move on from them with the next in line draft picks because you can't sign everyone - and im wondering if thats what we're gonna see. never trade picks or prospects because we are going to have to churn the middle 6 with them.

I mean - it's honestly not a terrible approach. If you can always have ELC in the wing you can replenish in a way that I remember Chicago being able to do and what you'd see from the Red Wings during their dynasty years. Able to let guys marinate a bit and then they'd plug 'em in after having to move on from the middle 6 guys that outgrew the $$$ situation.

It's sustainable in theory and if you hit on a guy you really like you can always move on from one of the more established guys for more picks or for a value added contract.

We have this year we can fill some cap space and then we're going to be a little tight for the next 2-3 years but after that if the cap keeps going up we should be able to keep a couple middle 6 guys.
