It's the 1st game, albeit a rough one. Rangers play a tough style for the Sabres. Sabres are not good against trap teams unless they get pressure below the dots. More teams are noticing if you take away the Sabres speed it frustrates them. Plus there still horrible defensively, was interesting seeing Granato splitting his pairs already today. They really need a TOP 4 RD Joker isn't it.

Well if that’s the case they’ll eventually trade him too and get some really good prospects. Cause that’s all that matter is prospects.

You are right, the defensive coach is terrible. Something needs to be done now. You cannot outscore every team 6 to 5. It always boils down to the defense leaving the goaltender out to dry. Donnie boy needs to make a change or he will be changed. This is going to be another year where they miss the playoffs by one point. There just seems to be no sense of urgency to want to win. Just get fat contracts for multiple years.

Basically everything we talked about happened in that 1at game. Hopefully it doesn't take the first 10-15 games to get sh!t straight. You don't make the playoffs the 1st month but you can surely hurt your chances of making it if you get of to a bad start.

It's only 1 regular season game sure,

From Adams perspective, keeping the roster the same would minimize the time it takes to gel and play consistent, competitive hockey. Gaining these points early could be the difference maker at the end of the season. That approach makes sense and fits the narrative of a slow offseason and justifying it by saying what is in the system is good enough.

However,

The product on the ice was brutal, at home (as usual) and the excuses afterwards from leadership and coaching lead one to believe they have a ways to go to play the way they should.

Could we be in for a roller coaster style season? Let's see which Sabres team shows up Saturday. I got box seats from UBS, I have no expectations going into the game.

Hit a dinger last night picking Laff (he always scores against the Sabres) and Peterka as any time goals scorers.

The overs fund is 0-1, the line was 6.5, needed one more bingo. Terry's reign of the Sabres lives on for another day.

Team looked bad. Just not good. Yikes.
