Private message I got from Hatboro:
Hey where'd you go???
Better save that brown paper bag your bottle came in when you paid for it with food stamps. You're going to need it to breathe in when you start hyperventilating from not posting. Good luck. Also, sorry for lighting you up on a daily basis. |

A. I was concerned about your well being.
2. Felt it was necessary to apologize.

Interesting finish to the article:
New York had 23 blocked shots on the night, with Trouba leading the way with eight.
"I thought they controlled their emotions, worked hard to stay on objective, but we're challenged nonetheless." Sabres head coach Don Granato said. "I think our guys did their best to not be frustrated and stay in the moment and stay on it. It was a challenging night you get scored on twice in the first three chances against."

It's the 1st game, albeit a rough one. Rangers play a tough style for the Sabres. Sabres are not good against trap teams unless they get pressure below the dots. More teams are noticing if you take away the Sabres speed it frustrates them. Plus there still horrible defensively, was interesting seeing Granato splitting his pairs already today. They really need a TOP 4 RD Joker isn't it. - Buff36
everyone knew the rangers were probably going to play a 1:3:1
this team came out flat and confused per players and coach
that is 100 percent coaching
his plan got us lit up like the bruins, preds and stars games last year on freaking opening night

Sabres game is speed, take it away and they still have trouble adjusting. |

So you bring in a young goalie with little experience to lead a team that can't play defence. The new young goalie is no different than the rest but because he's a saviour it's best to blame the team that can't play defence. The team never could but fired the only coach who tried to hammer it in their heads.
So the new coach who wouldn't defend Ralphie try's a new defensive system now because the last 10 years the team couldn't play defence.
Can't start over so fire Adams, Donnie and anyone who looks like them before this season is lost. |

My favorite moment of the game was Greenway taking a penalty for hugging Krieder.
So instead of ignoring it completely and taking the PP, or addressing it and dropping the gloves, he did the worst of both worlds.
Excellent start |

they shut down the top line
and the pp
our pk sucked
our d sucked
our goalie sucked
our effort sucked
our coach sucked
it really looked no different than a game the bruins lit us up last season

It did. I think this further proves that the defense, not goaltending, is the biggest issue right now. So many point blank, net front chances...just isn't sustainable unless we continue to score 6 per game. |

Greenway looked a ton better. I liked Benson's game. Mitts still looks viable. Krebs has grown some confidence, still needs more, but a good first game. Peterka looks like he took a step forward. Clifton showed flashes of not being an anchor, like he did in preseason.
Wasn't all negatives at least. |

50% of the defense is locked up long term. how do you upgrade the other 50% while complementing what you already committed to?
Tough task.

Yeah, I almost wonder if we don't try to flip Peterka to RW since he's played it before and move Krebs to 2LW. Pull Olo and let Jost center the LOG line. Whatchu think about that?

Yeah he can get canned at the end of the month. He did his job in terms of getting certain guys back to where they needed to be. The one trick pony is over. Average tenure for a Stanley Cup winning coach in their 4th season with the club. This is year 4. bye bye. |
