Are we trying to trade him? I wouldn't say high end wingers are our strength right now and he plays his role fine. The cap won't be an issue for a few years and I'll worry about it when we get there |

Hellebuyck 7 year extension.
Got to hand it to Chevy. By all accounts this guy wanted out of winnipeg less than six months ago and now he's locked up with term. |

Can’t imagine many teams outside of Winnipeg were going to hand him $59.5M over the next 7 years.

Imo, Dahlin will sign an 8yr./$88m deal with the Sabres in 2023, he'll be wearing an 'A' and will begin to enter Norris conversation. People will say Buffalo should have signed him long-term in 2021, but rumor had it that he didn't want to which works out well for the Sabres because they'll have him locked into his 30's.
That's my hill |

They might have handed him something close? Idk this is kinda weird. By all accounts quite a few of the pending UFA's just didn't want to be in the city of winnipeg anymore (as someone who spent time there I get it).
Scheifele and Hellebuyck signed big deals, but not so big that I don't think they could've gotten this or close to it in FA. It kinda reads like someone talked them into it. |

If Levi plays like we want him to, thats a contract that would be attached to the prodigy.

Which is fine, difference being Levi has his whole career ahead of him while Hellebuyck will be 31 when that contract kicks in.

What would be a good year for Mitts? Assuming he locks down the 3C role and has linemates that include Greenway, Quinn, Peterka, Benson, maybe Kane. Lead the team in points down the stretch, 24 years old now, maybe finally growing into the player we hoped he would be.
Last year: 82 GP, 15-44-59, -8
If he can be a positive player, or even, and get close to 75 points that has to be a great season. If he's at 65 as a 3C that's still going to be a good year imo. Want to see him shoot more and get 20+ goals - Zschalberg
I don't disagree with any of that.
The point was the Cap may begin to present problems in a couple years when Power and Dahlin kick in with new deals. It likely is going to really squeeze the bottom six of the F group...so re-signing Mitts may become problematic and could make him a casualty.
Thats all. Nothing meant to slight Mitts' play going forward...just it seems reasonable to expect the Sabres to have to have several players on ELC's |

Sounds like you're describing him as a 59 point 3C last year, who could improve on that.
In reality, he barely played 3C. He played some 3LW, but most of his production came on the 1st and 2nd lines + PP. If he plays mostly 3C + 2nd PP this year, the numbers likely drop. 75 points would take cracking the top 6 + 1st PP, imo.

Too bad, miss his fire and brimstone.
Doesn't change the fact he had multiple posts that were projecting concern of Dahlin leaving.
I remember because I called that out as BS after a while of all the pissing and moaning about it on here.

No I didn't mean it by that at all, just wanted to pivot to the mittlestadt conversation is all. Contract wise they still have his RFA rights which is a nice bargaining chip to have when it's time to re-sign |

Wow thats solid. Amazing take Pach.
But Adams still sucks because he bridged him. Should of made him sign 8 years then. And he sucks even more because he overpaid for him today when he should of made him sign for less 3 years ago.
But that not even the worse part. Have you seen his hairline?? How the F are you suppose to win a freaking stanley cup with that sh*t!! Rant over |
