my understanding is that if Price going on off season LTIR, the Habs cap becomes a hard number, even with more injuries this season, the cap number would be set. Bonuses earned by players this years would also be added to next year cap. If Price goes on LTIR on day 1 of the season for MTL (Tomorrow), Habs gain cap flexibility with LTIR, the cap ceiling is flexible with LTIR and the Habs can apply bonuses paid this season to this year cap space.

if they stay healthy the habs have basically the same chances of fighting for a playoff spot as the wings.
