I dont expect to see them making the playoffs, but if healthy, I do expect them to do better. I expect to see progress and fans of the team should hope for the same thing. Otherwise you are cheering against Dach, Slaf, Harris, Newhook and the future of this team. And yeah, thats not very wise if you are a Habs fan

I see 10-12 more points this year, either more wins (than 31) or less OT losses (than 6) to make up for that.

But I am more focused on development and how hard they play this year than wins - both for the players and the coaching staff.

MSL made numerous tactical/adjustment/match-up mistakes the last few years, which flew under the radar because they were a bad team not expected to win, but I think his coaching this year will be under more scrutiny. Also, looking at the assistants and the special teams.

Like Karine, I am really interested to see what the Newhook/Dach/Slaf can do over an extended period of games. And how the young D develop not only with different partners, but the probable rotation coming for the bottom 3.

MSL mentionned that they didnt really work on them last year. This year will be different as they are focusing more on that.

having Matheson in the line up would help

pretty much the only guy that can QB the pp, as of now anyway

maybe they could try Ghule or others (Wifi, Barron?) on the 2nd wave

I am pretty sure they will put WiFi on the 2nd PP, or maybe go 5 forwards again (hope not), but 4 forwards on both is more than likely.

Because I think he will play more on the PK, so it depends on how many minutes you are going to have him play in any given night, especially as he continues to develop.

Agreed. I think the reason we didn't see much of him on the powerplay were the injuries.

He should be there on the 2nd wave.

The Habs will have 18 Canadians on their opening night roster, the most in the NHL. Vegas is second with 17.

ESPN projects Slafkovsky to score 55 points this season.

Hmmm I would be happy with 40. 20 goals 20 assists.

the more I see him play, the more I see Dave Andreychuck.

What I liked about pre-season is that he seems to be more physical and going into the corners, a lot more than last year. I just wish he would shoot more often, and not try the pretty play first or look to pass.

Suzuki (highslot), Dach (front of the net), Matheson,
Caufield and Guhle (left and right board)
