New goal song should have been Blinding Lights by the Weeknd - AdamFrench
I can't support The Weekend, even if I don't mind a song or two of his.
He went to the same prom my brother went to because they were classmates, and every time I hear his name I just think of what my brother told me of that night.

The word was that they were going to have a few goal songs - different ones for original six matchups, the kids game, and so on. I believe the article I read suggested about 4 different songs. So while we will be unfortunately subjected to this a fair bit when we play Ottawa and Montreal, hopefully there's a better song for the other games (although if this was a winner, it doesn't bode well for the selection process). - Monkeypunk
Well, the good news is that's it's basically impossible for any of the other songs to be worse than it. Holy (frank).
It's absolutely only game one, and even in training camp you're more getting your legs under you and your timing down moreso than gelling with each other, so there's going to be ups and downs in this first month. I'm not passing firm judgement or writing an epitaph - I am merely stating that I have very serious misgivings about the structure of this defense because we have seen this structure before - and it should be noted that in 2019 we had Jake Muzzin, who is vastly superior to Jake McCabe. We didn't have Brodie, who despite his tumble yesterday, I still believe is a decent positional defenseman and a stabilizing presence. We'll see.
Yesterday felt like confirmation of those biases. Ultimately they have work to do.

The song is (frank)ing garbage.
Brodie is (frank)ing garbage.
Lily is (frank)ing garbage.
Sammy was (frank)ing garbage.
I thought we signed Domi, did he play?
- .HOHO.
I still don't understand why Brodie fell. Liljegren was great, outside of one insanely bad play. While I want Samsonov to be a lot better, it wasn't really his fault on most goals. The one on the horrible Liljegren turnover, I feel like he should've stayed in his net and he would've stopped it, though.
Think Domi might've gotten benched after his turnover that resulted in a goal.

The new goal is a good pump up drop for a crowd, and it'll get annoying for other fans to hear it. It's not something I'm going to expend much oxygen on.

When next time Newhook shouldn't so obviously nearly hook him. He's not on Colorado anymore where they just ignore that nothing happened, Scabs. - Monkeypunk

Just be thankful you don't spend time around dudes who are permanently trapped in 90s radio rock timewarp, my god it's wearying. It's like...you have Spotify, you have literally all the music in the world to listen to. And you can't get enough of what 102.1 was playing in the 90s. Just those songs. I don't get it man.

Domi and Reaves hardly touched the ice in the 3rd period, so maybe.
Edit: My opinion: While Nylander was dealing with the puck, it should be noted that Tavares sort of flubbed the play before Domi flubbed it, but Tavares has immunity with the coaching staff. Creating a line of 3 players known to be defensively poor and then singling one of them out because the line was defensively poor is poopty coaching in my opinion.

Yeah, I feel like we should've gotten the puck out the zone 3 or 4 times, minimum, on that one.
I'll be honest, though. I didn't know Tavares had 3 assists until I checked the stats after the game.

They're playing in TO on Saturday too at a small venue, but the tix sold out in 3 seconds. I did see them at the Phoenix before the pandemic and it was great.

Too slow no?
Maybe thats only in the beginning, cut to middle of song and they could use it.
I feel like the beginning of laces out would be great right after a goal.
