I dont think playing RHP down the middle is a good idea. Has he ever played there?
If monahan plays with Suzuki and Caufield, Newhook needs to play C
I would also wait a few games before changing all the lines |

is he really slotted on the 2nd line?
still, wouldn't want him to take away any ice time from younger guys who need it for their development...

I believe she meant RHP at left wing and Monahan at center ... Pearson would be moved to the 4th line. |

It's not a bad idea ... it would inject more speed on the 3rd line.
Monahan could use a faster winger on his line.
The 4th is a checking line so a vet like Pearson might fit well there. JMO. |

<< Unfortunately, the forward with whom Anderson has developed the most chemistry seems to be Newhook and right now, you can’t just take him away from that second line. If Monahan goes up to the top line, Anderson needs to come down to the third and someone needs to pivot that line. Who should that be? Well, until Dvorak comes back, I would give Harvey-Pinard a shot in the middle and move Gallagher down to the fourth line. It would be a shame to dismantle a line that gave you two goals on opening night, but something’s got to be done about the painfully slow third line.>>

I think he's played C in the 'Murican league, not sure if he's a "natural center" but he's a smart player and could be surprisingly effective at that position in the NHL, who knows. but I think they'll try other options before. |

Oh ... it appears I misread the blog.
I was thinking:
3rd: RHP - Monahan - Gally
4th: Pearson - Evans - Ylonen |

we'll see some tweaking done to the lines for sure during the year, but they didn't look so bad imho, I think they'll be fine.

Hains: In Hainsight: No Changes Yet
Even though a couple of his lines weren’t exactly firing on all cylinders on Wednesday, head coach Martin St-Louis will stick to his guns for Saturday’s home opener. - Karine Hains
Looked to me both the first and second line were pretty dangerous all night.
I have no issue with Anderson being on the first line, until some better option comes along.
Also, the first line was matched up against Matthews line for most of the game, so let us see how that looks against Chicago.
3 of the 4 lines really looked good against Toronto, not sure want to see those changed right now.

Vinnie Damphouse made an interesting point the other night, he said that Anderson was "out of sync" with the 2 amigos.
He said Anderson just goes full speed and doesn't sync his rushes with the support of the other 2 guys whereas Monahan was a more intelligent player and knew when to push. Not a bad take IMO. |

Good point ... I also have no problem with the first 2 lines.
The 3rd line needs more speed injected on it, that's why I would add RHP to help Monahan. |
