come late December, it will not matter if we beat the giants by 5 points or 50 points

all that will matter is that we won

Well very true, but hopefully by December they have found there consistency or it might not matter.

I've defended Dorsey a lot, but the shotgun runs are insane, especially at the goal line

They need to get a backup for Bernard over a WR?

I assume you mean a WLB, but even then, a WR would be way more valuable to this team.

I can agree CB is a need too but if Diggs goes down the season goes down with it

- sbroads24

With all the injuries on defense, if this team is going to do anything worth noting, it's going to have to come from the offense. McDermott seems to be able to scheme up some things to make them serviceable so far, but they're going to have to likely win track meets against teams like Philly, Cincinnati, Miami and probably Kansas City with what they are missing.

You can always use more weapons but I have very little confidence in their ability and willingness to use them. Dorsey deserves blame here but a lot of this falls on Allen too. Unless the play is some sort of design for a specific player (see the Harty touchdown), or a broken play out of desperation, he is pretty unwilling to throw to anyone but Diggs and sometimes Davis. It's why Kincaid's numbers are so pedestrian. A lot of that falls on your quarterback.

This is true...however, had the Giants scored on the last play of the 1st half instead of TT going complete mentally numb by running the ball a d therefore allowing time to expire
Or
The Refs not having the balls to call PI again on the last play of the game

...well, let's just say they got alot of help along the way which would have changed the result of the game.
There was quite a bit to be concerned with, so sweeping it under the rug doesn't seem to be justified either.
Doesn't seem to build a ton of confidence, rather that thankfully they played a basically inept team (with an O-line that was horrible)

Yet, as you alluded to, they won.

Solid post.
He is also throwing into 2X coverage...thank goodness he was inaccurate on those throws resulting in an uncatchable ball..for the result may have been more turnovers.

Read an interesting article yesterday in which the writer pointed out how each line Olo plays on is essentially a black hole.
Some people refuse to realize he actually hurts their beloved team..just too proud to admit mistakes.

I'd love to see Savoie there instead...he is another Benson..dog on a bone and could kick start that line. Certainly worth a try when he is ready to play again.

So, I was pretty hammered for the game, but my 2 sense. Dorsey still has problems scheming his WR's and he is horrible at adjusting to game flow if any. But Josh really doesn't help matters in some aspects. Shakir is getting open and a few plays I noticed Cook sneak out the back door and if Josh would take his eyes of Diggs and hit Cook in stride he could have had a few nice plays. Gabe Davis's route tree is horrible and needs to be adjusted, Allen barely looks his way.

Agreed, actually wouldn't mind seeing Biro there to if they send Savoie down.

The WR"s aren't good.

They really need an Emmanuel Sanders type again

they were both over 50 yards though

IMO those are 50/50 kicks on a good day

Hard to now when you don't use them. Hey I am all for getting a better WR, but players are getting open and Josh isn't throwing to them.

Outside of Diggs and Davis, I actually think Sherfield is the best of the bunch. They don't seem to, though.

Understand, but hit 1 of them and maybe you play that last drive differently on defense.

Big picture:
•Bills are 2nd in Division and tied for 3rd with 2 teams in the Conference
•Outside of the win against Miami, their wins have been against mediocre teams they should have pounded...not exactly inspiring, but they did what they should have done.

Focused picture.
• the Offense looks totally disjointed, game in and game out. The play calling just doesn't make sense to me.
• the Offense runs through Diggs way too much. Little contribution from others who should be more involved
• Defense has played well, and now that they have some pretty significant injuries at key positions ... I do wonder how well it can continue to do so now when they meet teams with good Offenses.
• Luckily the schedule gives them 5 weeks or so before they face a daunting last six games to close out the season (5 of 6 games against good offensive teams with good QB's)

I do hope Beaner can find a good coverage CB before the trade deadline...and a)Dorsey can get his head out of his ass
b) Josh can spread the ball around better
c) some players actually play like they are getting paid $M's (cough Davis)

Playcalling is not the issue. It’s the execution of the plays.

- Diggs horrible offside killed a drive
- Gabe Davis fumble
- Gabe Davis bad drop
- 2 bass missed field goals
- Knox drop at the very end / bad pass

I think it’s “cool” on Twitter to give Dorsey a hard time. He’s an easy scapegoat. So I get it.

Even the jets game …. Allen threw horrible INts. That’s not in Dorsey. Also the jets defense owned Mahomes and hurts. Not just Allen. Allen is the one that got the bad publicity

So hating on Dorsey is “cool” and you want to blend in with the crowd. Sure go for it.

Yeah, this is the second week in a row where the on-field issues far outweighed the calls coming from the booth. That being said, a good offensive coordinator recognizes this and calls some "easy button" plays to get his team on track, and that's something Dorsey lacks. Maybe that comes with experience (this is his second year calling plays at any level), but he needs to figure that out fast. Right now, the only solution seems to be "hope Diggs gets open somehow".

Can you name one game over the last two seasons, where we weren't playing a dumster fire team, where you thought, "the offense is really schemed well, they're picking this team apart and exploiting their weaknesses." I can't. That's on the OC IMO.

The Miami game this year, but their defense sucks.
