Well put, what do you see in Stillman that makes him part of the 7, 8?

He is a positive player even at this point in his career after playing on bad Chicago teams for all the defensive doubts. He is what the Sabres want 90% of their draft picks to become.

He can show them how to handle and win under pressure - this might be the biggest selling point for me.

His talent is undeniable, I hope they sign him. Quinn would be the biggest beneficiary from him joining the team IMO.

Edit: he also played for the NTDP and was an early 1st round pick. This fits the criteria for the current front office to offer employment.

I like this as a lot of these kids could learn a thing or two from Patty. Benson, to me, has a lot of the same traits as PK88, as an example. He could teach him how to leverage that shorter stature a bit better or how to position himself to be more successful. Quinn, I think would gain for sure, but not quite as much as a guy like Benson who stylistically is more of a match.

End of last year he was playing very solid. Better than joki, bryson. On par with labush. Thought he brought something on the back end that we missing.

Thought he did good clearing the net and tying up forecheckers.

I dont see a fit. Add a defensman or a true 1b to levi. Maybe try kulich on cozens wing for a few games.

We have lots of options. Kane unfortunately should not be 1.

Out of curiosity, Kane would likely end up on Tage's wing. I doubt they would want him, Petey and Cozens together given the defensive issues. Tuch slides to Cozens.

Cozens already has an RW that doesn't know the meaning of the word defense, so why add another?

That means you're adding a literal zero defense player to Casey's line.

Do you think the team needs another Jeff Skinner?

They need another Tuch like player, but even better defensively.

Valeri Nichushkin would've been a quality addition for what the Sabres still need.

Couldn't agree more. Seems like some posters like that extra scoring threat over a shutdown guy. The problem Donnie has now is trying to get at least some of the top 6 to have an idea of where their own end is and what to do there. Kane would be equal to Okposo in that regard.

Their overall defensive advanced stats through threw games have improved to league average, and you can see that they are more focused on it after the first game.

Good signs.

Kane on the first line would be a disaster defensively.

How much would that trio need to score to be an overall on ice positive?

When Quinn comes back, Kane is a 3rd line player IMO due to Tuch and Quinns more well rounded games.

None of those guys know what D is, might as well just place Olo there.
If he is so good, can anyone explain why is the vast majority of cases his impact on individual players is they produced the worst result with him than without him...virtually across all stat lines

i argued (perhaps conspiratorially) that the org would rather let stillman take bigger minutes and playtime in rochester than have him rot on the bench like bryson because they like stillman more.

Not that it needed confirming but Dregs says Andy is doing part time work for Buffalo. We saw that throughout camp.

Also he's signing a one day to retire a Sen. Offensive.
