The shot blocking skills win it!

Told you to calm down!

- Scabeh

Oh I'm calm.

Was there any update during the game about Dach? Hopefully nothing to serious.
- Habsolute009

I thought Newhook and Slaf had decent games after they were given a rotation of centers.

Newhook used his speed well and created some chances.

Slaf used his body, both protecting the puck and making some decent hits. He also made some nice passes that lead to scoring chances.

So that is at least a small silver lining.

Mattheson has a really solid game again tonight.

I am impressed by his play this year.

Beyond my expectations so far.

That's because your expectations are too low.

He's playing exactly as I expected him to.

Only that he was out for the game with a lower body injury.

No idea how serious it is.

Newhook looks like a fantastic player. Really like game. Slaf making progress compared to last year as well. Hopefully it keeps up.

Really hoping it’s just minor. Would be a real setback for him to be out a while again. He’s looked great during preseason and the first regular season game.

The double leg amputation would likely put him day-to-day, but the root canal likely has him on ltir.

I'm unbiased in all this. Unfortunately, it looks like you've got your talking points from Pravda/Habs TV (rds).

I'll just say Drouin sucks ... Pat's radar will get an alert to come back.

People were complaining Drouin never scored, and he made some off hand comment that people need to look at the right column (assists).

Everyone is salty today -#HabsJonathan Drouin when asked what he can do about not having scored a goal in 25 straight games: "there's another column on the right too if you want to look at it."

Also, good on Jared Tinordi for hanging in so long at the game. I am surprised he lasted this long, but I guess tenacity, hard work, and willingness to be the 7th (or 8th) D on a team helps prolong a career.

For some reason, Tinordi reminds me of Ryan O'Byrne (L'homme à la sacoche).

But you're right, kudos to Tinordi for hanging on.

Corey Perry on the warm ovation he received from #Habs fans pregame:

That's pretty cool. Pretty cool moment. We had a good run when I was here, it was exciting. Obviously, the circumstances were a little different, it's too bad we couldn't play in front of these fans. At the same time, I'll never forget playing for my favorite team growing up and going to the Stanley Cup final.
