Welp. It's been 3 games and I think it's safe to say that Matthews is the best penalty killer in the NHL.

Haven’t noticed rielly to much in the defensive zone which is good.
Gio actually looked a bit better than I was expecting so far.
McCabe and Klingberg look terrible out there. Can’t pick up guys, missed assignments, bad line changes, bad reads.
Brodie has been ok
Liljegren looks good to me. Only 3 games but I think he could be 2nd best defenseman on the team. He might already be it.

The leafs D does not have a true shutdown guy anymore. Even with Holl they looked better, with the bloody wings he’s sitting at plus 2. Nothing special but far better than the leafs backend. |

The leafs D does not have a true shutdown guy anymore. Even with Holl they looked better, with the bloody wings he’s sitting at plus 2. Nothing special but far better than the leafs backend.

everyone was a "+" last night on detroit.

If Holl is a +2, it's not his play. It's the 4 other players on the ice and the goalie.
Holl sucks. Period. 
Not sure why the Leafs thought Klingberg was the fix. That confuses the (frank) out of me.
Should've kept Schenn over Klingberg, traded Brodie and used his $ for the right bruiser and gone to the Cup. Just don't get the logic for Leafs management some times. It's pretty obvious.

Tbh I was initially happy they didn’t take Schenn on for 3 years at $2.75 mill a year…. now I’m thinking I was stupid for thinking that lol
