Lol yea the announcers saying "PhD line" will get annoying but it is (and will be) great when the crybabies whine about it every day. It's a long season. We won't be that good no matter who is out there. I missed the game but caught some on radio when driving home. I see ND played less than 9 minutes. If a kid was in that spot, the whiners would complain about how they are being misused and set up for failure by the dinosaur. You can't win. - Don Nachbaur
If they won't be that good no matter who is out there. Why should they play older veteran players over younger players? Fans who complain about that are crybabies? It doesn't seem as though you use much logic in your post.
I always get a kick out of a poster whining about whiners. It's hysterical. |

One that holds its players accountable!
I’m sure he will be back in the lineup soon. I hope he bounces back and has a good year. - Hosher12
Really, when will Tippett be scratched, whose performance in the first two games was equally as bad, if not worse than Frost's?

Frost had a solid preseason and two disappointing games to start the season. He is not the only one: Cates, Tippet, and Farabee have all been pretty quiet. Was it the right call to bench him? Not sure, they won a game but did they motivate Frost (or other players) to play better? That will take time to play out.
Until then, I’m happy for the fans. Winning the home season opener with such a weak team (defense) is good stuff! - coffee junkie
Didn't like the Frost scratch , however I thought Brink and Forester played solid games.
For all the heat ND gets from the fan base he was great tonight.Seeler is another guy who is not flashy but just quietly does the job.

the thing is the coach/co-gm1 has diff standards that he uses for the "Accountability" word. He could have benched many. Instead he took the easy I don't like this player approach instead of maybe sending a better message.
Any dman get benched so far? where is that accountability?
It is clear to even Stevie Wonder the coach is not fond of Frost and was looking for the 1st opportunity to bench him. At this point just cut the cord and move him out of the organization.

I was thinking the same thing as I watched ND last night. The whole line has been very good to start the year. What ND brings to the lineup is lost on so many who just have literally no idea how tough it is to play against a guy like that. I think Brink has been one of the most noticeable guys on the ice. I’m not sure you can take him out of the lineup and I’m not sure you would want to. Foerster is playing a very solid game and when the offence starts to come he’s going to become one of the better forwards on the team. I’m a fan of Frost, but I can count. Right now I’m not sure who sits instead? We’ll see going forward. |

Zamula really got that confidence boost after the goal for sure, but he also looked pretty good against Columbus. Only thing I would like is to see him fill out more. - Glak18
imo I think it is safe to say he isnt going to fill out at this point. Flyers need to except that and work with what they have with Zamula.
Also for pure entertainment purposes hope Zamula is scratched when RR comes back. |

I know he wouldn’t do it, but Atkinson hasn’t been great. But after a year away, I’m sure he wants to keep him in the lineup to get him going. Cates does so many things well…(frank), even his face off’ s look better. I do think you are probably correct on Torts over all treatment of Frost. I’m not sure he will become what he could under him….although the last 40 games 0f the season last year, frost seemed to thrive or at least show solid growth and improvement. |

I’ve hoped from the whole “rebuilding” press conference that DB would find away to move out a vet D and a forward or two. The young guys are clearly showing they belong…I’ll even say Andrae…let that kid play every night and I guarantee his over all game will shoot up. They just have to live with some of the growing pains. |

and yet he is on such a short leash? When this coach doesn't like you seems there is no going back. If he was the only one who hasnt looked good so to speak fine. That isnt the case.
I would 100% ask for a trade if I was Frost. |

when does staal become a "part time" player?????
DB was ecstatic when he found out Staal "wanted" to come to the flyers. Talk is cheap. |

Briere should do the player a favor and move Frost. The co-GM doesn’t have the testicular fortitude to sack Tortorella, so he isn’t going to relinquish the lineup card anytime soon. |

AV had Ghost, Torts has Frost.
After last night it was the first time I honestly started to believe that Frost will be dealt at some point.

Hopefully soon. Same goes for Seeler. Although he did get his head in front of that one shot last night. |

He definitely is not a Torts guy. But I’m not there yet with a trade. If this is still happening around Xmas ….then I think DB will have to move down that road. |

Pie charts and graphs….lol….you don’t even have to actually watch the game anymore. Everything is in the colours….

there was one or two others, but frost had a brutal first two games. tipp at least flashed some offensive skill and is more important to the PP. cates not on the score sheet but was doing his job defensively.
no problem with him sitting and tyson getting in.

I tend to agree. Frost got a decent chunk of change out of the org, and now it's best for him if he could go somewhere else where he won't be the fall guy any time the coach is mad after a bad loss. It's no coincidence that he was the first non-prospect on the chopping block out of the six that have zero points and are even or minus for the season.
When you have a team that struggles terribly to score, benching your leading ES scorer from last season and your leading preseason scorer after two regular season games just shows Torts has no interest in actually rebuilding.

Im interested to see how Frost responds if and when he gets back in the lineup. I doubt it will be against Edmonton.

ND had a pretty good game. And damn right he made a great play getting back and using his stick to break up that cross ice pass. - MBFlyerfan
Thee entire 4th line got dominated in the 8-10 minutes they were on the ice. If that's great, I'd hate to see what mediocre looks like.
