Im interested to see how Frost responds if and when he gets back in the lineup. I doubt it will be against Edmonton. - MBFlyerfan
I think it's funny the only forward with worse shot attempt numbers than Frost so far is Cates, and people think Cates has been good defensively this season. Take a look at the guy in the #1 spot if you want to see what being good defensively against tough opposition looks like.

Really, when will Tippett be scratched, whose performance in the first two games was equally as bad, if not worse than Frost's? - MJL
this is not true. first game frost was terrible. they both had issues game two. but in the two games to start tip was the better of the two.

Look, you can cry all you want about it but Torts said it best in the post game, Frost sat because Couts was able to play and other players are playing better than Frost. I mean look at the impact Brink made in last night's game. He was threat almost every time he was on the ice. Can you honestly say that about Frost? I want to see both Brink and Foerster in the lineup every night this season so they can develop, but that means someone sits. Last night it was Frost, next game who knows. Maybe it is Tippet, though I thought he played well last night. I mentioned earlier, Frost needs to step up his game; he clearly was not playing like I saw him play in pre-season and this is my knock against Frost, there is just no consistency in his game. |

If Deslauriers is so tough to play against and people don't understand that. Why in an 80 game sample last season, did the opposition score 65% of the goals scored when Deslauriers was on the ice? |

I think it's time for the Flyers to bring in some coaching help on the PP. Once again last night the PP was a disaster with bad zone entries, lack of movement in the offensive zone and over passing. The Flyers have enough talent up front to be much better than this IMO, and I thus think its time for the Flyers to bring in some coaching help. Rocky Thompson is a good coach, but he has proven to not be the guy to coach the forwards on the PP IMO. |

Is Frost the only player that other players are playing better than? When a team is rebuilding, one of the team's best young players is not the player who should sit after a two game sample. The coach is a jackass.
If there is no consistency in his game, how did he lead the team in scoring over a 5 month period last season as well as leading the team overall in ES scoring?

Right, he lead the team in scoring the 2nd half of last season, has a good camp and then comes out flat the first two games. This is my problem with Frost. You can't say he didn't get the minutes or he was not playing with good players. Frost is good enough that he should never give the coach reason to sit him in favor of a younger player, but he comes out flat and this is what happens. You can't deny Brink needs to play in every game for the Flyers, he is one of their best forwards right now, and Foerster needs to develop his confidence, so someone needs to sit. I wouldn't mind it being Nick D, and just Laughton down to the 4th line. I think it's going to be this way until we get closer to the trade deadline and then one of the vets like Laughton needs to be moved. |

Just ot be clear I did not like to see Frost sit last night. Ultimately I think the best thing for Frost is to get traded to another team, but that won't happen if he is sitting in the press box. I would prefer Torts play Frost and help him get as many points as he can to up his trade value. |

They tell me Frost has had a sluggish start, and what is worse is he is not being matched up with other team's top lines. |

Frost wasn't the only player to come out flat. That's what you don't understand. Frost is just Tortorella's fall guy. Tortorella needs to have a longer leash. The GM needs to step in. Again

Which stats are telling you that? What did they tell you about Tippett after two games? His numbers were worse than Frost's.

I 100% agree here. Foerster was not good against the Sens. Why does he have a longer leash?
Bottom line is Torts does not like Frost as a player. It's really that simple. Basically Forst has to be a point per game player or he sits.

Cates can be added to the slow start list. he has been just as good as Frost. The only reason he has for faceoff wins is because he played 1 more game.

game one cates was better, game two both were bad with frost edging cates. but cates and frost are different style of players. if people expect cates to put up the same offensive numbers as frost should be i'm not sure what to say. should frost be expected to handle better defensive matchups?

the thing is the coach/co-gm1 has diff standards that he uses for the "Accountability" word. He could have benched many. Instead he took the easy I don't like this player approach instead of maybe sending a better message.
Any dman get benched so far? where is that accountability?
It is clear to even Stevie Wonder the coach is not fond of Frost and was looking for the 1st opportunity to bench him. At this point just cut the cord and move him out of the organization. - hello it's me 2050
I agree -- GMDB should fire torts |

Purely talking about Frost being benched when Torts favorite is putting up similar numbers. |

i have no problem with him sitting a game to get his head out of his a$$. he is an offensive player that was not playing well is the point. tipp has not been much better but as i said has brought or is used for other elements. same with cates. |

I think with all the young guys, they have to play….the Flyers have to live with inconsistency and mistakes. That includes Frost. |

Tippet would be a lot more noticeable and useful if he hit the (frank)in net….although last night was better. |

They need to play all the young players and have patience. Even if they have a few bad games or a stretch of bad games. Coach them through it. Give them the opportunity. Scratching Frost after two game is ridiculously absurd.

I was outside playing with the kids last night, did not catch the game, but seems like they did much better. Thanks
the previous game, funny how no one is talking about TK or Scott as they also had terrible numbers.
