The NHL has officially notified teams it would like to hear their opinions on “decentralization” of the draft (having clubs stay at home while prospects attend NFL/NBA style). If there is desire for change, would most likely be in 2025 — outside chance for 2024.

I think Garland will be traded before noon tomorrow so they can insert Mikheyev who is suffering with a cap issue injury into the line up.

Well at least Juulsen is gone. Cole hasn’t looked like a top 4 either, Soucy looked lost yesterday but it’s his first game so we’ll give him a pass. I liked McWard with QH in the preseason but I don’t see him taking Myers spot……..yet. Hronek has been a good addition he looked goood vs the Oilers.
Garland needs to bring a Jake Bean type return, but more likely to get Swedish winger Olofsson from Buffalo. He’s been a healthy scratch to start but does have a decent shot and had 28 goals last year.

Yes but roster spot. If you are trying to get the best deal on Garland you can't have him playing in Abby. They need to move him first and bring in Mik. I believe Mikheyev will be in tomorrows lineup and Canucks want to get rid of Garland. Opening up the cap space also allows them to try to move Myers the other contract JR wishes he didn't have.

Friedman says he thinks with the Schenn injury they are no longer in the Garland sweeps. Supposedly it was a trade for Fabro but they need him now.

This coming from the guy that pegged Podkolzin in the top 6 at one point. There's bigger problems with this team than Myers, getting rid of him for the sake of getting rid of him isn't gonna solve them. But feel free to pile on me for trying to point that out.

I thought he played poorly last game BTW. But then tell me who didn't besides Demko.
