Demko stood on his head for Vancouver. Easily could have been a blowout. Dude straight up robbed Laughton on that 2 on 1 backhand attempt.

I'm curious also. While Frost did not have good games neither did many forwards not names TK and SC

We knew our defense was gonna be an issue this season, so an early season shut out was unexpected, but I will take it. I'm also waiting to hear more about the Frost scratch.

Torts said it in his post-game, Frost needs to play better, other players are playing better than he is and thus he was scratched so Brink and Foerster can be in the lineup.

If this team stays healthy they are dangerously close to a bubble team. Hopefully injuries bail out management’s incompetence once again this season.

I strongly disagree. The only competent hockey team we played we got dominated

we'll drop after the vets are traded at the TDL
Torts is showing some of these players can actually contribute when the coach isn't a moron

Yea, it's early in the season. Team cohesiveness will ramp up. The Flyers are likely just one of the better bottom dwellars

What Torts should've said is "that a number of players need to play better so using my irrational thought process. I chose my least favorite player to scratch".

I'm fine with the coach's decision to scratch Frost. My issue was that he did it for the home opener. That is a big deal for a young player. Have your name announced and skate out with your team.

What is the story with Risto? When can he return? I like to believe that one of Walker/Staal/Seeler sits when he returns. You need to run Zamula out there and let him play through mistakes. You could make the same case for Andrae but I doubt Torts sits two vets.

I think Andrae probably goes down to Lehigh when Risto returns.

Hopefully Staal sits and Andrae goes back to the AHL to get regular playing time. Or Zamula and Andrae get a regular shift in the NHL. I do not see that happening though.

I honestly dont see Zamula getting through waivers so he is most likely here to stay.

Here to stay and hopefully here to play. Torts makes some asinine calls on which player he chooses to bench. If be upset if Z has to sit. The kid is looking pretty good, especially for what is really his first season

Don't expect Staal or Seeler to come out of the lineup.

It's on my Twitter feed. Short version that I would think a player leading a team in scoring the latter 2/3 of last season and then leading again in the preseason would have earned him more leeway than two games although neither the CBJ nor OTT games were good ones for him (no one was good in Ottawa), Tippett struggled worse and Brink was an offensive black hole in the same two games (one shot attempt). But it is what it is.

Seems like he will be back in the lineup tomorrow.

I think Torts is playing musical chairs with the line-up to see the chemistry. Although, Tippet- Frost chemistry appears to be evident.

Bill, any chance Torts tries to get Briere to sign that Phillies security guard that tackled that fan at the game yesterday? Looks like the Eagles are gonna pass.
