It's not even Halloween yet!
Saw Christmas decorations at a hardware store yesterday. Unbelievable!
As much as my wife loves Christmas, and will start decorating the day after Thanksgiving, even she thinks it's crazy. - Fenrir
I know, it's all about the $$$$. It's disgusting. - Fenrir
Flagged this by accident, sorry. Enjoy your ban.
Give me the keys to one of these giant corporations marketing departments. I'll do all sorts of weird stuff like start advertising for Valentines day 2025 a month from now. Really confuse everyone.
Pretty much. I mean I get they aren't gonna look like superstars every game, so I definitely want to see where they are by Thanksgiving. My issue is the lack of effort in games they lose. Its like no one gives a poop. - mdw7413
I'd say last night, pretty much everyone not named Igor
I turned it after Zib refused to shoot. So Really only watched 1/2 the game.
Cuylle looked good, so there was that - mdw7413
I don't think its effort. i think we just look at some of our players thru beer goggles. This young talent is just not that talented. Kakko, Laff, Fill are not top 6 players. Rangers right now have 3 top 6 players. One marginal and the rest.. meh

Its tough having all these high draft choices crapping out. - Greschnergy#4
Not even about that. The talent gap for Nashville end with Josi and Saros, comparable to Shesterkin and Fox. The gap on the roster start there. Nashville just worked hard last night. In every aspect.

I mean yeah, there is always some type of homer views, but I try not to let that affect my view. Agree with Tom on this though, last night was definitely effort.

Its not always easy to distinguish between effort and lack of talent

I mean you look at Shesty, definitely top 5 in the league. Fox top 5. Panarin and Zib, top 5 and top 10. Kreider probably top 15. There is skill on this team. I really do believe a bunch of the issues come down to effort. imo

right - this my point. Its the level of player right below these - Greschnergy#4
I get what you are saying, but I think my point is you can't have a bunch of superstars, its always gonna be a handful of really good players and more complimentary pieces. If they all played with effort, with these current players, its a good team. this is just my opinion though, and I'm usually wrong

After last year, before the Playoffs, Chytil and Kakko were trending up. then games 3-7 happened and everybody not named Kreider and Shesterkin poop the bed. This year, some of the same stories are showing. Again, just put forth more of an effort. That's all I ask as they adjust to a new coach. (Coaches need to stop holding on to timeouts. GG did all of last year and Laviolette has done it a couple of times.)

Pretty much how I see it. I'll wait till Thanksgiving to start really freaking out.
But that's my point though. The Leafs, Hawks and Rangers never won in the non cap era. They all made big splashs and failed. Detroit, New Jersey and Colorado dominated. You know why, they drafted well and made good trades. they also signed some guys but the point remains that just mindlessly spending doesn't correlate to championships.
MLB and NBA are perfect examples of that right now. - tomburton99
