Good to see the refs are still in preseason mode. - Peter Richards
Yeah, that could have been called a holding penalty.

Wow I learn something new every day...Pittsburgh does have a baseball team. I really thought the Pirates shutdown as a feeder team. - Glak18

Team is fun to watch right now. They were good early last season. It’s real early teams are finding their legs still while torts had us ramped up so time will tell - Just5
They were winning early last year, but Hart was the difference. I can honestly say they have deserved to win every game except the Ottawa loss. They are playing better then the other teams right now. |

Phillies deserved to sweep this series. Kimbrel 💩 that up. |

That and a few others throughout the game. Then add the dumb seeler call. Shame the way they played they deserved to win. |

Looking at the shots last 3 games. It must be a Torts team record. 😁 |

I give Torts credit for abandoning the awful 2 dmen in OT scheme. They still lost, but at least they had some attacking chances before then.
And at least for one night, he also abandoned the idea that the 4th line is something special, with the "PHD" line getting 8 minutes and under at ES. Maybe their doctorate is getting revoked?

playing fast teams and the Flyers are skating fast, ND give him props for how he hast started the season but as it moves on ND will look slower and slower.

While I do not mind him playing, Andrea I would send back to LHV. That is what they will likely do when RR is back. Cant have him sitting.
TK keeps up this pace even somewhat that ext amount will get bigger by the game.
I just cant get used to Boucher just yet. A little too much felating on certain things.
If any accountability you take out tippet. I said this the other day and someone else did yesterday. Try Frost at LW. |

ASF mentioned that Torts' camps stress skating and conditioning way more than most teams and coaches. So at the beginning of the season the Flyers sometimes have an edge on other teams simply because they are in better shape. But as the season moves along and other teams get up to "speed" that advantage starts to disappear.
We saw it last season. Its only a matter of time this season.

I agree, this team also has more talent this season. Last season was better hockey than the prior, this season seems like it will be the same. I think Torts has a little to do with that but it is the farm system and the team just being healthier.
PS- seems CF had a few good picks, could be the only thing he did right.

At least now we will start to get an actual read on the York/Brink vs Caulfield debate.

while i think andrae will be here in the future. i think a little ahl time will serve him well. adjusting to the north american style a little and build confidence. assuming RR is back in next game. but could see them still carrying 7 just because.

rebuilding i wanted him traded last year, but he had some nice plays last night. love the hit on benn. that imo is not an instigator. he challenged and the other player dropped his gloves. then to add the game misconduct. wtf |

Debrincat with a hat trick today. Reminds me of that Howie Roseman article. One guy thinking he was the smartest person in the room. Makes terrible decisions. Passes on best player available. Pick tanks while BPA flourishes. Thanks Hextall. Laberge playing in ICEHL while Debrincant cementing legendary status. Will never know for sure but it seems like this regime is smarter than than previous. |
