The premise of the statement was not an ND. It was the role and the spot that ND occupies. It's simply not suitable for Frost. - missingmike
True, but neither is Scott Laughton, who in my opinion is a strong bottom 6 guy, playing in a top 6 center role.
If Torts were actually dealing with merit, Foerster would be sitting. And as JB pointed out, it's quite hypocritical of Torts do defend Foerster's play by saying he has to take into consideration what Foerster did last season in his 8 game tryout, while not taking into consideration what Frost did last season and this preseason.

You missed it. Deslauriers staying in the lineup is absolutely part of the premise. I haven't see anyone suggest Frost play on the 4th line. |

He did it on a losing team against other teams’ back up goalies and apathetic rosters who assumed they just had to show up to beat the Flyers. Ryan Potulny once produced at a 41 point pace on a lousy Edmonton team under similar circumstances and he was a career AHLer. Frost will get his chance soon while the games matter.
Regardless, he will never be a 3rd or 4th line center in this league and isn’t good enough to be a 2nd line center on a contending team thus why I called him a nothing player. - psuhockey
Can we please stop with this ridiculous narrative as if Frost was the only guy on the team who produced against weaker teams? As if EVERY player in the NHL doesn't do exactly the same thing. Or Owen Tippett for that matter.

Can you provide for me how many of Frost's point last season were scored against a backup goalie?

Couturier matches up with Hischier. I envision Frost's future as a 3C - MJL
When the Flyers are contending, Couturier is going to be in his mid to later 30’s. I seriously doubt he is going to be a top 2 center in the league at that point. |

I don't see any way Laughton gets near the 4th line this season. Torts loves him. Cates has also lost a lot of ice time this season with Couturier back - last season he averaged 14:04 at ES.
https://www.nhl.com/stats...erGame&page=0&pageSize=50
Couturier - 14:20
Tippett - 12:59
Laughton - 12:46
Atkinson - 12:36
Brink - 12:26 (4 games)
Konecny - 12:16
Foerster - 11:59 (4 games)
Farabee - 11:52
Frost - 11:38 (2 games)
Cates - 11:04
Poehling - 10:09
Hathaway - 10:02
Deslauriers - 9:35 |

I don’t think Tippett is special either. He’s a middle six winger depth scorer on a contender. |

You may doubt it but it certainly is possible. He is still a really good player

How did I miss it?:
Can we please stop with the ND crap. Different player and different roles.
You want to take ND out and send laughton to the 4th line correct?
The team clearly thinks laughton belongs in the top 9
Could you please just stop being triggered by every metioning of ND? |

OK, but I'd be annoyed if he was being scratched because Deslauriers has to play 82 games during a "rebuild".
And please don't anyone tell me Cates can't possibly be dropped to 4LW. He's getting 4th line minutes already! |

I mean, it might be bad for Andrae's development to be getting 13 ES minutes a night instead of 20 minutes in the AHL.
Looks like the last time Risto played was 10/2 against Boston when he had 19:26 TOI, mostly paired with Zamula. So this injury is going to cost him at least a calendar month.

After he was waived he performed better in Colorado and Washington than any 4th liner the Flyers had on the ice until this season, when they signed Poehling at $1.4m and Hahaway at $2.375m. But I see the dullards still want to defend Fletcher dumping NAk and spending almost two full seasons with the league's worst 4th line, just like they wanted to defend paying a 2nd rounder to get rid of Ghost. Is he in the AHL, too? - Feanor
so he performs "well" in short spurts. Not enough to hold down an nhl job. then gets waived. Flyers really miss his contribution. Such a horrible mistake. Plenty to rip on chuck for, NAk isnt one of them.
Peeps still talking about NAK. Pure entertainment. |

We could talk about how the defense doesn't miss Ivan at all, and how you were completely wrong when you insisted the Flyers had no interest in trading him literally one week before they traded him. That OK with you, jack? |

13 nhl minutes > 20 ahl minutes. With the assumption he can handle the 13. |

Let me get it straight- you picked one of my statements for the analyses, but offer me an advice to follow the whole conversation that has been lasting longer than the NHL season?
Also, I was not responding to you in my initial post, however, you decided to school me on that?
You probably should practice what you preach. |

What I did was ask a simple question that was completely relevant to the ongoing conversation and was completely hockey related. You're attempting to make it into something more. Yes, when you claim incorrectly that it was not part of the premise. The advice was obviously needed. You really shouldn't be so easily triggered.
