poor guy. he really has nothing else.

you know he doesn't even have cable? he listens to the games on the radio.

i switched back from my phillies hat to my eagles hat today so he doesn't have any flashbacks.

They played good overall, if they could stop taking all those penalties they could have some success

I dont know how you can dislike MS and what he as done so far

is it perfect ? No of course, but in my mind such an upgrade on the Dominique Ducharme, Michel Therrien, Jacques Martin

Yes.

Still not sure Burrowes should be in charge in specials teams, would'nt mind a coach with more experience there

My only issue with MSL is that we have not seen that much growth as a coach during a game, making adjustments, he does not "out-coach" the opposition, etc. He seems good at development, but beyond that....

He also seems to be stubbornly sticking with assistants that cannot get the specialty teams going (over multiple seasons). The only decent one he had, Luke Richardson, went to Chicago.

it's okay.
their PP is awful but we know why. they said last week that they didn't work on it last year, they had other priorities.
well.... yeah.... I don't necessarily agree , but fine.
last year they took many penalties. they still do. I guess they didn't work on that either.
and it's the bordel in their own zone. c'est tout croche. they probably have no time to work on that either.

so on what did they work exactly? asking for a friend

Well, lets hope we see that change this year and / or when he as a team that can legitimately aspire to make the playoff somewhat easily

I seriously think you should consider not being a habs fan anymore, just cheer for a team that will make you happy

I always felt MSL was hired to change the culture on the team, change the thinking on development, help young kids.

I never felt he was the long-term coach for the team.

I was surprised he was not moved up to director of player development the summer after he took over from DD, but MSL had success with key players over a very short period of time. I am not convinced MSL is HuGo's long-term coaching plan, nor am I convinced MSL has planned to be the Habs coach this long before moving into a more management/development role.

Unless MSL learns to become a better coach (or has much better assistants), I do not think he will be around (as coach, but will be in the organization) when the Habs are ready to push up the standings.

Will be interesting to see how this all evolves moving forward.

Sheldon Keefe has never outcoached anyone and got extended by the Leafs.

Even (frank)ing Ducharme outdid him in the playoffs.

Edit: The point is, I'm not expecting Marty to outcoach anyone, just have the team ready and see the players perform as much as they can.

I don't even get the "out-coaching" argument anyway, they're a team on a rebuild, everybody has been saying we need to be patient but now for some reason we should think the team would be much better with another coach..? wtf.

wah wah wah. not what I said at all.

I think we're all ready to be patient, (hell we've been patient for over 20 years!!!) but we need to see improvement.
like I said in my previous post, on what did they work exactly? because it's not the PP, and it's not the d coverage in their own zone. on these 2 crucial aspects of the game we have not seen any improvements. zip.
