NEWS: The NHL has issued a memo to teams saying that there was majority support for a shift to a decentralized draft. Still not clear if it will happen in 2024 and there are a lot of logistics to work out.
I'm sure the vote was rigged - stinger67
This seems.... lame.
I like the NHL version of the draft, much more entertaining.

Ever watched the NFL draft? They're probably going with something like that.

Less gm tables = more space for fans to buy tickets.
I don't need to see the entire coyotes brass do the wacky wear the same suit bit again, or the 38 year son of the oilers owner be the child representative of the team for another year |

I agree with this, although I don't necessarily trust the NHL to use this new format properly and turn it into something interesting and entertaining. while it could work there's also a huge chance it becomes a monumental flop lol. I guess they'll have to learn from their mistakes if that's the case. |

How long before one player has tape representing the Israel flag while another has the Palestinian flag on his stick?
I feel like the pride games were a more controlled, sensible thing to do than letting the players go free for all with this.
Then again, it's just (frank)ing tape so.... |

that would be a political statement though, while the rainbow colors aren't, even if many are confused by this and think there's an ideology and an "agenda" behind them. |

Well the rainbow colors are a sort of political statement, even if you see it as something completely harmless and normal like the majority of people.

they've been turned into a political statement by those opposed to them. inclusivity isn't supposed to be about politics.
I know this conversation may turn to poop, I know it will, but oh well...

sadly, that's probably the case. but "guns don't kill people", right?
also this happened in a town located 6 hours from here, it isn't very far, which isn't all that comforting even though there's a border, and different laws lol. |
