Yes, Tortorella is a jackass for scratching Frost in the first place and keeping him out. They could go 82-0 and that wouldn't change that. There is a bigger picture here.

They are a point outta first. What’s the big picture here Picasso?

The team is a point out of first because everyone has bought in. They are overachieving. Dummy fans wanna tank for a draft pick.
The players don’t tank. They’re fighting for their spot and their next contract.
Other than the Sens game this is the best ( my favourite) 7 game stretch in 2 years.
Don’t be embarrassed for me.
You obviously didn’t own skates. I get it.

- kennygarcon

As a fan, the Flyers franchise has you right where they want you speaking of buy in. Using cliches such as everyone buying in. Not that it's not important but it's not what drives a team or the league. Talent and skill is what drives the league and Frost is one of the most talented players on the team. You state that player are fighting for their next contract? Half of the team shouldn't and won't be getting another contract from the Flyers. LOL. Flyers are the only rebuilding team in NHL history that doesn't have room for a 24 year old 1st round pick who led their team in ES scoring for a season and in total scoring for a 56 game span. I look at the big picture and not some meaningless October wins. Are you insinuating that Frost has not bought into the team structure? That he an issue in the locker room? If so that is absurd

For you, it wouldn't matter if you owned 1,000 pairs of skate. I get it.

Ummmm.....winning the Stanley Cup. The skates don't go on your head. Take them off. It's cutting off the circulation to your brain.

Just curious, does anyone know who led the Flyers in scoring for a 56 game span over the course of a season? Anyone? Bueller?

Like a broken f'n record.

They won 6-2!
Sanheim was a beast.
Brink, two goals
Tippet on scoresheet.

But but but Torts is mean to Frost.

They started out 7-3-2 last season and we all know how that turned out.

Last season we could all feel it was smoke and mirrors, the advanced stats were the real barometer and it all evened out.

This year, another good start, but I'll agree with many that the team feels different so far. Let's see where we are in a month.

I'll say it again, you cannot understate the effect Sean Couturier has on this team. IMO he is worth 5 wins on his own.

Bottom line is Frost will not get back in the lineup unless there is an injury.

Here is the thing, if the posts of how there was no room in the lineup or that he doesn't deserve to be in the lineup would stop, I can stop replying with the facts in rebuttal. See, I'm interested in winning a Stanley Cup. Not in winning a meaningless October regular season game.

Agree completely. I have no delusions that this is a Cup contender this year. However many of the pieces, sans Frost, that we want to see are working their tails off. Some having results, Brink, some not so much, Tyson, Emil. It's a long season. Frost will play when he plays. I happen to be enjoying the product on the ice so far.

Fair, but do you think Frost playing in these last 5 games are pivotal to a Flyers Cup in '24,' 25, '26,.....?

I don't.

As everyone has stated repeatedly whether they like it or not, Torts seems to control active GameDay roster. There are a mix of kids, young vets, valuable seasoned vets, and plugs. We can't control who he puts out there. In Tort' s mind this is the active F roster today. I can't really argue with the results. Do I want to see Frost out there? YES! Should he be out there for future growth? I agree with you that he should. Can I argue with the results of the last 5 games? Not really.

You mentioned that Oct games are meaningless, so why so upset if Frost isn't out there for 5 games?

As for the 3 players you mentioned, I don't think they have 56 games combined, so perhaps he's giving them ample time in NHL when the games are "meaningless". when the real games arrive they know Frost has a 56 game window that he can produce.

Again, for this team is it about winning some games in October or is this team genuinely in a rebuild? If it's the latter, how can sitting a 24 year player who led your team in ES scoring last year and total scoring over a 56 game span (Your post requires that I post this again) make sense? What is more important. It's a simple answer to me. We can't control who is out there but we can certainly have an opinion.

I said winning the games in meaningless. Player development time and working for the future is very important. The 5 games that Frost has not played is missed opportunity for growth

They can't play Frost and those players at the same time? You dodge the question.

What rebuilding team in the history of the NHL takes one of their top young players out of the lineup to save him for later? LOL

I have to say even strength scoring in 56 game samples is a stat they really don't cover enough. If I count 58 games does he not lead the team?
With framing like that... I think CNN is hiring!

Read your words buddy, you said winning meaningless games. Not winning games is meaningless.

I didn't dodge the question, I said they have less than 56 games combined so maybe they need more time on ice and using your description of meaningless, perhaps it's better to get the rooks out there now.

Maybe Torts already knows what he has in Frost and waiting for the real games to bring in his ringer.... 😉

We're both in agreement that Frost should be out there. I just don't need to repeat some meaningless Stat 56 times a day to less than 56 people.

Last I checked part of a rebuild is learning how to win. Is this early season success: best 1st per scoring, best scoring off rush, better PK... Are these not elements of a team rebuilding and learning how to play as a competitor?

Too much focus on one guy. Take Frost out of the equation and what do you have? Lots of young kids playing and playing well. Younger veterans stepping up; TK, Sanheim, Farabee, Hart. Couturier and Atkinson healthy and playing well. Michkov and Gauthier looking like studs. A ton of picks, including two firsts, in the next draft. A lot of stuff to like. I get it, Frost should be playing. For some reason Torts has a hard on for him. Oh well.

I know what my premise is. Again, they can't have the other rookies and Frost out there at the same time. That's just impossible. This team is just too stacked.

I don't care if you don't like what I post. That's your problem. Ignore it or comment on it. Your choice.

Learning how to win, playing the right way. Playing for the team and crest on the sweater. Playing for each other. All of the Flyer mantras!

Is doing all of those things while keeping one of your best young players in the press box a rebuild. Learning how to do all of those things with players who likely won't even be around when and if the team actually gets there?

You still have not answered this question
