If Brink is a consistent 30 goal and York is a good top 4 d-man I think the Flyers are at least even on the exchange. That is assuming Caulfield is a consistent 40 goal scorer.
None of those things are true right now. - mickel25
I think York tops out as a 3D and brink around 40-50 points. I don't know if Caufield will stay healthy enough to get 40 on the regular. All things considered, right now, I would take the 2 over the 1.

The correct move would be Laughton to the 4th line, frost in and ND way out of here. We all know ND is not going anywhere especially since his fight, I mean wrestling match, was the reason they won.
Does anyone else hope he breaks his hand (or jaw) when fighting. I know, I'm not a good person, but that is the only realistic way he is exiting the lineup... - mr4tno
Tippett did credit ND for getting into a fight and firing everyone on the flyers up. Believe it or not, that's what he said

Disagree. Injuries are normally short term. Then what?

He doesn't have to trade the player at all. A good GM says, yeah, what else ya got? In my eyes he is not in a position of weakness at all.

The book is obviously still out on both Brink and York. At least it's not looking as bad as it once did. |

The book is still 100% out on Caulfield's ultimate ceiling. He is the most dynamic player of the three for sure. |

I agree as we have 2 players contributing in the NHL. It will be nice to see more of Brink and how he develops. He seems to be around the puck a lot. That's why I questioned 30 goals. Is it a possibility... Maybe? Not sure. I'd take 20-25 per year.
I think Caufield can be an elite goal scorer even at his size. Opposing teams will be physical with him so he may experience more injuries. If healthy, I think he is a consistent 40 goal scorer. We'll see how he holds up.

"It would be unfair to not give these players an opportunity" - MJL
I figured that's their plan.
Hopefully they do what Detroit did last season and not really be active. Let the the team that got ya where you are finish it out and wherever the chips fall, they fall. |

I agree but the fact that Caufield had 26 goals in 46 games (before injury) on a poor team shows his potential. Still early for all 3 players. I side with the 2 versus 1 argument.

Maybe with Caulfield but so far he has 93 points in 130 games. He's still very young. The book is still out of Caufield being a point a game player. It never looked that bad.

so are more than a dozen goalies - hello it's me 2050
Maybe there are, but right now we have one, so why give it up? Eventually the Flyers will have to pay a goalie, so why not just par Hart?

They have Ersson, Kolosov, Bjarnason and Zavragin. They could good get a good return of future assets for Hart. Especially if he is a franchise goalie as you claim.

Torts luvs the 4th line. He is not breaking them up.
He is not going to sit TK, Bee, Atkinson, Cates, Brink, Tippet Coots or Forester. He won't sit Laughton either but Laughton is not producing.
No one is going to be traded this soon in the season.
So tell me genius, how does Frost get into the lineup? - WhiskeyMan
Hire these two guys?

Just keep Frost sitting in limbo? - MJL That won't happen for much longer most likely. He needs to get back in the lineup and I think everyone agrees on that, but there is no pressure at this time for Briere to trade him unless Frost or his agent comes out and demands a trade. |

Did you expect it to happen for 5 games? What's going to change? They need to decide if the player is a part of the future. If the coach is going to play him. If not, they should try to move him in a fair deal.

problem will be, even when he is back, he will be way behind, like he didn't play 2 games or have camp. That in itself no big deal, but Torts will have plenty of fodder to launch Frost way. Big difference being sat in-season and being sat to start the season.
Bill should ask Torts when Frost is back;
Will Frost get a chance to make mistakes and learn like others, or will you continue the tough love with him? |

Frost will have even more pressure and be under more of a microscope then he already is. Under pressure to play perfectly and at a high level. What a cluster (frank) |

What’s the obsession with Frost? Seriously. This guy a good half season then held out like he was doing it for years. I’m a little old school as well. I honestly laughed when I saw him out of the lineup. I hope Tortorella keeps him out longer. |

Seriously, what are you talking about? When did Frost hold out? He was in training camp on time, attended every camp day and every practice. It is commonplace for RFA's to not sign until late in the Summer. Happens every year.
