Once that third line starts scoring, he'll be fine. As mentioned, they are not giving up much of anything, so tough to complain about much of anything else. Give the team 20 games to get the system down pat. 5v5 goals will come then.

Actually no too worried about that line. Trocheck has bee fine, just need him to take less penalties and Cuylle is just a good 3rd line NHL player at this point.

Let's settle down. But I will continue to manifest Elias Lindholm to the first line RW.

Will need the Backstrom LTIR space for that one.

Wheeler has been bad but in fairness he should have a point on that Cuylle goal that was waived off for kicking. That should've counted and was a nice play by Wheeler.

He still needs to be a lot better though for sure

They don't. A minor roster move (Waive one of Pitlick or Wheeler.) Have Calgary retain half and then the Rangers have enough space.

I didn't realize he was in the last year of his contract. What would resigning him look like?

Trading Goodrow would have to happen. And maybe losing Lindgren.

I think trading Goodrow and somehow moving on from Trocheck would be even more ideal. Lindholm would make Trocheck very redundant.

Goalies also are better now. In 93/94 two goalies had SP of .920 or better. in 21/22 6 goalies had SP of .920 or better. (Minimum 10 games played).
- blacksheep1

I totally agree that goalies are better today than in those years, but those goalies also did not wear Michelin-man sized equipment that blocked almost the entire net like they do now. Today's equipment is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion.

I like Tro he just has to stop taking terrible penalties. He has a low hockey IQ but can put up 50-60 points

My post in getting Lindholm wasn't advocating for shipping out Trocheck. He's not going anywhere. Whether you dislike him or like him. If they need to move a contract it's Goodrow. I know people like him, but you can't a 4th liner 3.64 million dollars. Even with the cap going up.

In regards to Lindohlm, I know he's a center now. He did play wing in Carolina. And in my mind Centers in hockey are like shortstops in baseball. If they are good enough you can just move them around.

You can never have enough centers either. Barzal is a natural center playing the wing for the isles as an example.

Would anyone do Kakko for Lindholm? That’s tough unless he re-signs. But just throwing it out there (to ultimately get yelled at )

No, but if Calgary ask for a 1st and one of Othmann or Perreault I might.

Ooof I’m the opposite I wouldn’t do that

Based off of expectations so far, pound for pound Kakko has been the worst Ranger and I don’t think it’s close. I’m ready to deal him I think. And I think Calgary would do that in a heartbeat

Well he’s probably leaving after the season. Maybe they could get a better return sure, but idc about other teams haha just in a vacuum I think they’d do that deal one for one. Kakko is good a player just not what I think any of us expected so far. I think his clock is ticking, if he doesn’t get his game to a better level I think Drury will trade him. He gets a new contract next year and I don’t see him worth a raise at the moment, and I can’t think Drury feels any different

That's how HB trades have worked for years.
Other team accepts our garbage + conditional 6th for their star. Done deal.

He’s a pending UFA tho. I’d say there is a 100% chance Lindholm is traded. Kakko and 1st? They’d be foolish to not trade him for a package like that. They are a dumpster fire so it’s possible they don’t trade him at all lol

Kakko isn’t garbage, I’m just saying I’m not sure the Rangers are willing to wait him out any longer. This is a huuuuuge season for this org and they can’t wait for potential much longer

Calagary is floundering right now. they have go on streak soon to save their season. I'd be willing to guess Lindholm and Hanafin are both gone.
