I don't disagree about that. But there were warning signs that if they're skill wasn't getting it done, that they didn't have a system to fall back on. I think that has been rectified. They just needed that balance. - JRR1285

Which insane. Because I maintain once they couldn't figure out Schmid in game 4, that series was over. Remember how lifeless they looked? |

I don't care how he scores goals. The Rangers have never had or kept a player like him around over the last 30 years. All he needs to do is score 65 more goals over the next 3+ seasons to became the 2nd best goal scorer this organization has ever seen. - blacksheep1
I know the '94 team was very good, but they have arguably(actually not even arguably in my opinion) even more talent on this roster. All they need to do is figure out how to play the right way when it matters. I am cautiously optimistic after the huge let down last season. |

Rangers were a good team last year, you can't have a 107 point season and not be a good team
that Devils series sucked the life out of everyone - jimbro83
I think this year will be a much different team in the playoffs. Lavy looks to be a great choice as coach. Structure is key!! |

I'm checking.
edit: Last year they finished 10th in goals for at 5 on 5, better than I expected. - blacksheep1

What is insane to me is that series didn't have to play out that way. Gallant was incredulous when asked if his job was in jeopardy. How could you not view the end result of that season as a pink slip generating event?
It was exactly the same way he coached every game. Keep going out and doing the same thing because it got them this far. There's no way it could stop working and you would have to adjust or change something. Unfathomable. |

I mean just break it down by position. Only 3 players have an advantage over their 2023 replacement. Mess over Zib, Leetch over Fox and Zubov over Lindgren. |

Sounds Nicklas Backstrom's career might be dwindling. A topic that might be relevant depend on future events. |

I would argue that Zubov over Lindgren is mitigated by the other D-Men currently on the roster.
Leetch might be a bit better than Fox, it's really close. I think Fox is still trending up.
Messier obviously has the better career, and is likely unmatched in most ways. But I think the talent is similar if you compare '94 Mess to now Zibanejad, Zib might even be a hair better. The big difference comes from Messier's compete level and his leadership. Nobody on the roster matches that. |

Kane will have better results. I can't wait to see him in Rangers colors soon. |

Jesus I just saw the Adam Johnson video for the first time. That poop looked intentional. Like a karate kick kind of thing. What an awful thing to have seen live my god - Slimtj100
Guy get's barely tapped on his side and he lucha libre flying kicks the poor guy. Never seen a player get launched like that from an open ice hit.
When Trouba blasted Kadri last season, the guy simply stopped and went down...hard. This guy that skated someone went ten feet in the air. I don't get it. |

Looks like a hip injury (like Kane). He's going to miss some time. The entire Caps team is in limbo. Ovie has only 2 goals in 8 games and one was an empty netter. |

Backstrom had his hip resurfaced last year. Is now going back out due to a set back. Looks like he might be done. |

They’re pretty screwed. Really need to pull a Rangers type quick rebuild but they are stuck with NMCs. Maybe Ovi asks out (doubt it). |

if he goes in LTIR, it will save them 9.2M in Cap. Not sure if there's a center worth a hoot that's available right now. Season is too vanilla yet. |

Not you fault. Was a major topic, and I didn't take any of that as fighting. More so unknowing what is right and wrong regarding a death. |

I have to say, reading over Kane's progress etc. He looks to have had a much more positive outcome thus far than any of the other players that attempted a return from this surgery. Backstrom never seemed to have positive news. Kessler never played again. Jovanovski played in 40+ games before retiring.
Whether or not he returns to the Rangers, I am interested to see how it goes for him. He likely has a bit more left in him if the hip can recover well enough. It looks like he was younger than the other players who had the procedure as well. |

He could be a trade piece for a team that wants to use the LTIR cap circumvention tactic. |
