If they're gonna trade him they'd better do it before his annual Nov/Dec collapse. - Tomahawk
I should trade him off my hockey fantasy team as well then? |

I guess you either missed or glossed over the part where I said they're competing for the most part. - MJL
The Flyers are not just competing, they are competing and even outplaying some of the best teams in the league for large stretches of games. This is a big step forward from last year's team, and Torts deserves credit, which I know you will never do. You keep calling Torts antiquated and incompetent, yet in just about every presser he has had this year so far he has talked about getting the team to play faster, more possession, more offense, more aggressive. A far cry from what you have called a "collapsing" style of play. Everything you have stated about Torts has been wrong! |

Frost is not a young player any longer. He is not Brink or Foerster. He has played 161 NHL games, so stop the nonsense about Frost being a young player. Just because I point out when Frost is not playing well does not mean I am skapegoating him or that I don't like him. I also point out when he does play well, like I did in the 3rd period the other night. You and others on this forum as just paranoid when it comes to Frost. - jd250
161 NHL games played is a few games less than two full NHL seasons. That is absolutely a young NHL player. Your assessments of Frost as a player have been entirely inaccurate, from little things to bigger things such as stating that he will never be more than an AHL player. A correct assessment of Frost's play in the last game would've been acknowledging that he was rusty to start but progressively better as the game went on, including making a number of high level set up plays for quality scoring chances. One on the PP and a handful in the 3rd period. Instead, your in game posting included gems such as "DO SOMETHING" and then you focused on his faceoff percentage. Others are not paranoid. You're just incompetent.
Further reinforced by comparing Frost and Couturier at 24. It seems as though you don't know or understand experience levels. |

I think that is a narrative that is undeserved. Reality is he has done very little as a NHL coach since about 2006. Only taking one team past the 2nd round of the playoffs in about 16 NHL seasons as a coach. He is a terribly overrated coach.

They've had some good moments and some not so good moments. Tortorella doesn't know what that is in today's NHL. He still plays the same antiquated style of play. He plays a low zone collapse in the defensive zone. That is factually true. I think they've been better this year than last year but still not where they need to be.

So you are going to embarrass yourself yet again and tell everyone here that Frost is fine on faceoffs? That he has nothing to improve upon? Let's see, 3 games, 0 points and a 29 percent FO% .. hmmm ... ya ... he is perfectly fine. Oh! That's right. We have a new excuse for Frosty .. sample size ... of course ... forgot about that one. - jd250
Frost finished last season at 45%... not good but not horrible either. He's played three games this season. Last one he was up against Jordan Staal (one of the best of the best of the best in draws for 15 years) all night. When the Flyered were in Ottawa, he took five draws against Giroux. That will hurt a faceoff percentage.
He will be fine. He was 9-for-11 in the next to last preseason game, mostly against Charlie Coyle.
It'll largely even out.

I'm thinking the Sabres will just wait until the rest of the team is ready to contend and go out and grab a veteran #1, like Colorado did with Kuemper.
Hart is gonna get paid too much on his next deal, and he's inconsistent and unproven to boot. - Tomahawk
They are ready imo. The have a wide open window. No reaosn with good goaltending they can't make some noise. Same with the Devils.
They can acquire hart and have him for the next 2 years. Then decide what to do base don how Levi progresses. He would be a clear upgrade to what they have now. |

Buff could def use a solid goalie like Hart. They have assets in spades to work out a deal. - hello it's me 2050
They just have to wait until we put him on waivers later this year as he's the main issue with the team right now.. |

He doesn't actually care about faceoffs. If he did, he would be upset that the Flyers 2C has a career FO% below 40.

I don't think it's too grey. I'm surprised he ever played again after the surgery he had.
On a totally unrelated topic, has anyone heard any rumors about what body part Risto hurt a month ago?

how is it blocking him? is he ready to take the reign full time for a team ready to take off? Hart be a very good addition for the next 2 years then re-evaluate.
Levi may be the man down the line. |
