I suspect so. Kinda like Nashville did with Ellis when we acquired him. He’s perfectly healthy they said. Haha |

I saw that. Hilarious. Imagine if they miss the playoffs? They get to pick which year it isn 24-26 but man. That’s a bitter pill. Funny that this screwup they lose a first but Chicago can cover up a sex Predator and a few people lose their jobs. No picks lost. Chicago over small market ottawa I suppose - Hextall271

I see folks on here constantly talking about trading Hart. Do they really want to do that? I'm actually not being a smart ass. He has won everywhere that he has been when given a good team in front of him. He played very well during their playoff run in 2020. I think he is a championship caliber goalie if he has the right team in front of him cause he has shown it at every level. Not sure I part ways with him unless he says he wants to leave town. |

He is an RFA, due a new contract after this season. What would you pay him? 6-7M a year for how many years. Is he worth that?

I don’t want to trade him. I think he’s still young enough and it’s been a long time since we’ve had a strong goalie like him. Give him an actual defence and some goal scoring support and I think he’d be a star.

yes as his next contract at (in 25-26) he will get 5-8 years and over 5 million to start. I myself not interested if you can move him for some quality.
When does this team seriously contend? If they get rid of torts in a year does that set the "rebuild" back yet again?
Flyers have some nice parts that may not align with some players time wise. |

Is he worth that? - MJL That would have to be negotiated by someone with a higher paygrade than mine. The other part of this is that goalies don't tend to draw great packages back when they are traded. He is still very young and just entering his prime, and goalies can play at a high level into their mid 30's. I'm just saying that I'd be very careful in ushering him out of town. |

how long will that take to provide, if they even can?
No sure fire studs on D in the pipeline. Cant see any high end free agent forward wanting to come play for Torts? |

Flyers have some nice parts that may not align with some players time wise. - hello it's me 2050 I'm hoping that they are a serious contender in 3-5 years. Perhaps the 3 is a bit ambitious, but he is a proven winner and was the only reason they made any noise in the 2020 playoffs. |

So what would you do? Send out a goalie entering his prime and start the search all over again? I know exactly how it’ll end. With us trying to contend and not having a quality goaltender. I’d re sign him. I believe you build from the tender out. We really need to draft some quality d men in the next while as you can’t win without at least 3 solid d imo. |

There have been many goalies who have played consistently well on bad teams, so we can take that excuse away right off the top.
And plenty of guys like Mason, Nedeljkovic, Fucale, Jack Campbell, Montoya, etc were just as decorated as Hart coming out of junior and didn't end playing at a consistently high level in the bigs, so teenage accomplishments really don't mean that much.
What we're left with is the following:
- Hart is a career .906 goalie,
- He has a propensity to start hot and fade severely as the season wears on,
- He is one of the worst goalies in the league on the PK,
- He hasn't been the most durable physically,
- His complete mental breakdown in 20-21 was shocking,
- His age and contract status do not align with the team's likely timeline.
Locking Hart up to a long term deal could end up like the John Gibson situation in Anaheim... an albatross goalie contract on a rebuilding team trying to take the next step that can't be moved. |

Dorion assured them that Dadonov hadn't filed the team-list for his NTC on time when in fact he did.
Apparently they were bamboozled and were the victims here. |

All the players on the team now do in fact align with the timeline for contention according to PR guy Keith Jones. Contention is only two more years away. Maybe sooner. |

His next contract needs to be considered when deciding whether to re-sign him or trade him.

I can see both sides. Hart is really just entering into his prime. If I can get him at a good number, It would be tempting. I don't think he would fetch a kings ransom in a trade.
