Thrashers could make a run if they bring back Danny Heatley. He’s well rested and only 42. Probably a lot left in the tank. - Minnyhock

In 8 games, Ovechkin has 1 powerplay goal, and 1 empty net goal. So he's on pace for 20 goals after scoring 42 last year. Seems to be struggling to create any scoring chances on his own as well. - Cooleus
I suspect that if he were on pace for 75 goals after 8 games you'd be saying it was too small of a sample size to put any stock in |

Hey Ek. What are sources saying about Backstrom "stepping away from the game". Why not just have team announce he is going on LTIR due to chronic hip pain or nagging injury from his past surgery? Seems odd that the player makes his own personal announcement on Twitter with references to stepping away from the game and asking for privacy. Something seems strange here... |

I'm sure you also cancelled his career when he scored 32 goals. It's 8 games. He can have two hattricks all empty netters and suddenly look like he's able to keep up with the truly elite goal scorers in the world like Frankie Vatrano. - AdamFrench
Notice I added the part about struggling to generate much on his own. That's an eye test. I'm well aware of extrapolation. Simply saying he looks visibly slower and less of an offensive threat. That's corroborated by having just 1 PP goal and 1 EN goal. Zilch 5-on-5. But sure, maybe he gets a couple of hat-tricks this week and scores 42 again. I'll be watching... |

About as strange as your long winded posts trying to prove Ek wrong everyday. |

Backstrom had the same hip resurfacing surgery as Patrick Kane. That likely won't go unnoticed by the league. Of course every player is different but I suspect many folks are underestimating the challenge that Kane will have recovering from something that invasive. |

Cash-wise, yes. But they could easily place him on LTIR to get quite a bit of cap relief - eichiefs9
or trade him to the Coyotes. |

Trade the Wings blogger?? Are you kidding me???? Good luck finding a new blogger that will tolerate you the way ours does!!!
And you are definitely not speaking on behalf of me or the majority of the other wings fans on here who recognize and appreciate the time and effort he puts into his blogs!
Once again you are showing your true colours |

Yet you still chime in quite often... I appreciate the time and work Jeremy puts into the Wings' blog. He's certainly better than Duff... the guy before him. If you don't like what Jeremy blogs... then disappear. No need to bad mouth him. - Vladdie_Kon1
Well said. Jeremy is not for everyone. He’s a class guy and a solid blogger.
