No sir, taking advantage of the Paid Parental Leave that NY offers. I'll be back to work for 2 days next week, then back to full time the Monday after Thanksgiving.
The PPL is a godsend, considering I normally take virtually no time off annually.

I'm taking two weeks off for ours using PFL, and then taking every Wednesday off from the end of January through August.
I truly don't know how we'd be able to afford having a baby without the PFL act. Childcare is ridiculously expensive. My buddy is paying like $90/day - Hank Balling
We will be paying $400 per week when the little guy starts in April next year, and most were more expensive then the one we went with.
Are you getting the gap covered between what PPL pays (60% to 67%), or no?
I'm very, very lucky where I work to not have PTO, but unlimited time off, which means I can use that every day I use PPL to get 100% of my pay covered for all 60 days of PPL until the little guy turns 1. |

Novikov is probably a two year project. Andersson makes this squad a lot better, and I hate to say it, but you probably want Andersson and Jokiharju in the lineup and EJ as your part time defender depending on the opponent.
All that said, I'd be stunned to see Calgary trade their best defensive asset. - TheSabresTaco

Was gonna tell 39, but Walgreens was having a sale on Enfamil Baby formula. That sh!ts expensive - Buff36
Our little guy needs Similac Sensitive.
$50 per 30 ounces, and we're going through 30 ounces per week, roughly. |

Is this your 1st kid 39 ? And hope you stocked up on Diapers, probably changing about 10 to 15 a day at this point. Have you been blessed yet, might be a bit early for that. - Buff36
Yes sir, first one.
I've already caught shrapnel from pee and poop.
Caught a blowout to the shirt and chin the other day while changing him 🤣 |

Yeah, there's extra work hours in my house. This is pretty across the board cost, sadly. It's not easy. I'm fortunate enough that one is finally in kindergarten and the other goes to pre-k in September.

You can never have enough wipes. Buy one pallet of wipes. - TheSabresTaco
We have a lot, but not enough.
We do have the warmer for the wipes, so they're not cold to the touch when we use them. |

Maybe Hanifin skating will match, but don't think his D game is a good match for Dahlin or Power.
Think Tanev could work with Power for a year or 2
Dahlin Johnson
Power Tanev
Samuelsson Joker
If Johnson stumbles a bit you can always switch him with Samuelsson. Plus this might help alleviate some injury issues with Samuelsson. |

Paying $7M+ for the next 2 seasons for the 3rd pair on defense would not be ideal. |

Are Tanev or Hanifin a good target? - kingcong39
I think that's a great question because there's a good discussion for the pros and cons for either of those players, and them assimilating/making this team better.
In the offseason I was for both. One or the other. At this point, a Tanev rent-to-buy could be a good idea because he'd be a strong replacement for Johnson.
Dahlin-RJohnson (????)
Power-Joker
Samuelsson-Tanev/Clifton
A lot rides on how Joker finishes the year and their long term plans for him. If he carries this play to the end of the year, they may not do poop on defense. |

Tell everyone to save Coupons if they see them for Baby Stuff! Might seem stupid but it helps, especially for Baby Food and Diapers. Sh!t gets expensive |

Injuries aside, can they really bring in another defender via trade without one going the other way?
The roster and the idea of sitting both E. Johnson and Clifton make the possibility seem rather remote. |

formula is no joke. his one year birthday is going to feel like dropping a sack of bricks.
I'm happy for you and all the new parents out there that there's no more formula shortage. |

No it wouldn't, but depending on what Tanev signs for its doable with Johnson’s ELC for another year. |

If you want to do it:
Wait till TDL.
Skinner-Thompson-Tuch
Greenway-Mitts-Quinn
Peterka-Cozens-Savoie/Benson/Kulich
Girgensons-Krebs-Okposo
Void/Jost/Kane
Dahlin-RJ
Power-Joker
Clifton-Johnson
Bryson
Levi/UPL/Comrie
25 players here. Bryson and Void could easily be waived, Bryson may be waived once Sam returns.
Leaves room for one rookie and Kane. You can also demote Peterka and Levi on paper. After the TDL the roster can be as big as you want it to be.
To fit Tanev, you paper demote one of those guys or use Krebs and a 3rd. |

Tanev still has strong defensive numbers on a piss poor team. That would be my pick. |

Doesn't matter. As long as he doesn't miss a game. Hell, use Levi and start UPL or Comrie if you have a game in the next 24 hrs.

All things considered, I will take a loser point against Carolina anytime. That team has always played us well. I always chalk these games up to an L, so the point is progress. - Jet Jaguar BD
Yup. I agree
We also had 1 makeshift line that barely played.
So playing with short bench and no cozens. We did pretty good.
I also liked the fact that our team speed matched up better than last year. Last year, it seemed like we were 2 steps behind and chasing the entire game |

No, unfortunately. But taking a 33% hit one day a week is better than nothing. Sounds like you have a nice setup |
