I certainly agree. I'd have to put some thought into it, but if I were to go all-in on one guy in this league, I'm not sure it's Andersson. He isn't a bad option though by no means. - TheSabresTaco
Well I believe he is very close to that, really fits us perfectly.
Things start to get tight here in a few years, my mind goes right to a Skinner trade. - TheSabresTaco
Things begin to get tight next season, and really get tight the season after next, especially if Peterka and Quinn keep trending up, and you extend both Mittelstadt and Jokiharju.
It's why I'd only extend one of the two above (Casey).
we do have the assets. i don't think it's realistic to expect this GM to overpay for anybody.
that being said, is Rasmus Andersson *the* guy you'd go all in for? - TheSabresTaco
If the Flames remain irrelevant and look to rebuild, yes he is worth it. If UPL/Levi is the plan, bulking up on defense is wise, even if Andersson is traded for assets when UPL/Levi grow into their own.
Or
Oil country is in a free fall - Leon might be on the block shortly with McDavid on deck.
Buffalo has the players/futures to make a deal, it wouldn't fit the narrative of this team at all to go that route though.

Then you gotta pay the guy while already paying Power and Dahlin 19 Million - DirtyDan
And maybe Novikov is ready and Andersson becomes a trade chip or hell maybe Samuelsson becomes that trade chip. Really depends on onxthe Sabres approach there forward group and if they do extend Mitts how big is the Cap hit. Sabres can flow a lot of ELC'S if need be. Especially if either Strbak or McCarthy are ready in 3yrs.

a good philosophical question would be are we enough in a win now mode that its worth burying kulich in a lousy role 5on5 to help the powerplay - robz228
few different approaches. You can stick him with those two to help develop his defensive game like you did with Krebs, but I think considering he's a proficient scorer, unlike Krebs, it would do a disservice to the player and the team.
Or you stick him on a depth scoring line taking weak matchups with Savoie and Cozens and watch them outshoot their comp.
btw Cozens is on the ice. He has a facemask on. Looks like Hathaway was a bad choice.

I know it was simply a matter of warm bodies day, but having a third line scoring threat would be night and day vs whatever the (frank) Olofssson-Krebs-Rousek is.
