you got 50 prospects and picks for a reason
to fill a few slots with upgrades
only 18 skaters per game and I would like to think we all agree about 12 of them are set
of course a goalie is needed to go with those few skaters
but 50 prospects and picks to fill those few slots
and chicken man is on a cheap contract with a few years left in a cap era - homiedclown
I'd go all in on Noah Dobson. That's what I would do.

You seen there " all in " with Tage, Cozens, Dahlin, Power. I don't know what everyone still expects. |

23/23 right now, Cozens not on IR and Savoie is included. No actual need to do so on the Sabres end.
Sam Comrie Benson skating pre practice so that's gotta be a week min. Could throw them Rousek, but with back to back tomorrow they probably want to keep him. I dunno. - TheSabresTaco
Yeah, they actually called up a few players from Jacksonville, and sent Doogie down. |

spitballing.
I don't expect Dobson or Andersson or anyone else.
I do tend to wonder, along with most people here, what will happen when we have 5 guys in a 2 year span beating down the door and we have at most 2 spots for them.

Yesterday we were talking about all-in candidates, said I wasn't sure if I'd do Andersson. I think I'd rather do Dobson.
Point I made above is, no it's pure fantasy.

Not a chance the Sabres can afford either into their next contract. Adds a thick layer to who the best all-in guy should be.

Adams is spending this season learning how to use LTIR, so when he has that many bodies he will abuse it.
This guy bet the remaining hairs on his head on this group, cost the Sabres 4 NHL seasons to put together, this is it. |

Krebs has 12 games of exemption left. He's trending towards the bench. If he starts sitting multiple games, think there's a real chance they send him there. |

Just because they are doing well in the AHL doesn't mean it translates to the NHL as i'm sure most know. Some of these kids may only be bottom 6 players, Adams will go at his normal slow pace and worry about 2 years. IMO 8.3 is a little strong for Power. |

Power will grow into that contract, I have little doubt. I agree those guys need to show what they're made of, here. Been saying it for a while but next year's camp is massive for Biro, Benson, Savoie, Kulich and Rosen.

True, but not like you can't move a Samuelsson if Novikov develops and Johnson grows into a reliable Top 4. |

Not a lot of options out there if you're looking for a quality defender with term and a reasonable cap hit that a team might move.
https://www.capfriendly.com/players/travis-sanheim
You're going to have to take a risk and either sign or trade for a quality player like Andersson or Dobson, and then do what every other quality team does: Figure out the cap as you go.
As Buff36 said, you can trade someone like Samuelsson, Jokiharju, or others to make it work.
It just means difficult decisions are necessary.
Nobody ever said this poop should be easy. |
