He scored 57 points last year. 65% of that is 37.05. - Wetbandit1
149 points in last 151 games
65 percent of that is 53 points over a full season |

Joking aside, the Sabres weak spots right now are offense and veteran leadership. If the 1 or 2 year deals rumored to be offered are true, Kane would have the highest upside of any FA the Sabres have signed that I can remember.
There is a match, and IMO more positives than negatives to bringing him in. - Theguywiththething
What's Kane's upside?
Point per game player?
Chances he's still that?
Chances he would play > 85% of the team's games, when he joins the team? |

it would be like when TO played for the bills at the age of 35
great sign at the time
ok numbers (to had 829 yards that year)
a few nice games (to had that 98 yard TD)
temper expectations and it will probably work out aside from taking a spot from a kid
side note, TO at 36 years old for the bengals had a better year, 983 yards in 14 games |

I’ve already answered these questions.
It’s Kevyn Adams, it’s either sign Kane or plug in (insert rookie name) this season.
Is this not the season this group is ready to embrace expectations?
Is the goal not to improve everyday?
Do you honestly believe (insert rookie name) will have a bigger impact than Kane this season? |

Considering I have no confidence that Kane can and will play a long stretch of games without needing a game or multiple games off due to the severity of his injury and the surgery performed, yes, a rookie actually playing games may have as large an impact.
You're fully confident in his ability to play the majority of the games when he joins a team?
The track record of that kind of surgery is not promising. |

skinner of the D
although he was double shifted as a winger during his rookie season with bowman - homiedclown
Good points. Wish Phil played with some of the zest that Jeff is playing with now. Skinner, in my opinion, is a huge piece of the Sabres being successful. Sure, he has his shortcomings, but scores big goals, goes into the dirty areas, is a thorn in the side of the opposition, and has been one of the most consistent forwards along with Casey. The contract that seemed like a boat anchor is manageable today. I love watching him play and feel he would be very difficult to replace |

Savoie has 9 games to show what he’s got, but I would definitely make the argument that Kulich could have the same if not more of an impact than Kane at this juncture.
Haglin and Backstrom lasted 10 minutes after hip resurfacing surgery |

The fab 5 will still be available if Kane is shot, Adams is mastering the LTIR as we speak (that’s why Murray is out week to week, to teach Adams how to manipulate it properly) so the merry-go-round of plugging in prospects gains an additional roster spot to use. |

Can’t help but get PTSD about the 10 game heater the Sabres went on 5 years from now watching the Canucks these last few weeks.
They have banked enough points that playoffs can be a reality for them but man there is no way this is sustainable.
3 goals on 10 shots on Ottawa tonight and another goalie playing out of its skull.

He was on the low end of that last year.
They were terrified of Eichel's surgery, but are going to walk right into the risks of this one? It's track record isn't encouraging.
The fit on this team is also just terrible. - Lunaion
If Kane wasn’t from Buffalo everyone would hate the idea.
Kane is done.
But veteran leadership I guess, which begs the question why do they need the two useless (frank)s in Okposo and Girgensons. |

Now go back pre-injury...like I stated - IonSabres
When was the injury? It's a chronic thing that he's been dealing with for years. Like Evander and his shoulder when he came here.
He's too old and too expensive coming off an iffy, serious surgery. What sane person would not only sign him to a multi-million dollar deal, but a multi-year, multi-million dollar deal? A fücking bozo; so 3 year $15M deal incoming since a fücking bozo runs the team |

Fair enough.
For me, I am confident enough for the role he would play here.
Every player in that room would learn something from him, to me if he could get the team to learn how to become killers and how to handle pressure (which is needed) he would be worth every penny.
Time to grow up from:

TO was/is still a healthy, physical specimen. Kane is neither of those things. Let some other team sign him for the remainder of the year and if he can show he's bounced back, sure throw a deal at him.
What does he have left to play for? A 3 time Cup winner, Conn Smythe winner, an Art Ross, Hart, and Pearson award.
This isn't TO trying to win a title at the end of his career. Kane has nothing to play for but a check and we all know how that works out |

TO also wasn't coming off a career threatening surgery.
This is more like signing Von Miller right now, coming off his surgery.

They have an incredible shooting percentage, but they are anchored by elite level talent playing fantastically, plus they have a better goaltender and more depth too? |
