You think Turcotte is any good, or will be any good?
He hasn't exactly set the world on fire, including at the AHL level.
Sabres have several prospects who look better to a lot better, and Turcotte's size looks quite similar to many of the Sabres prospects. - kingcong39
Yes, his puck pursuit will get him into a bottom6 at minimum and his goal scoring touch could propel him higher. I'm not worried about the size at all though, he's 5'11, about 185-190 which would make him bigger than Kulich.
He's at 9pts in 10 games now in the AHL, small sample, but he seems to be making strides. |

He's played 1 game (+ whatever you call that 7d setup in Toronto). Think people are getting a little carried away. - Lunaion

Reasonable expectations Boss, don't have to set yourself up for disappointment with every prospect. 10 years of Girgs should have taught you this lesson.

If he's better than Joker and/or Samuelsson for the rest of the season, that would open some nice doors.

Still has things to prove and develop. But I hope he does that here. |

I think it allows a bottom pair of joker and clifton/e.johnson
that would be an upgrade for the bottom pair and stability for our top 4 d |

Roll 4. Trade Krebs to make room. Let Girgs and Okposo walk.
Let me know how much you don't like the bottom 6 and I'll let you know how much I don't care. |

He hasn't played much since being drafted, so there is still hope, but if he's going to be anything of note at the NHL level, shouldn't he be producing at least a point per game at soon to be 23 and his D+5 season?
All that is window dressing to the largest question: Where the hell are you going to play him and how are you going to find room for him at forward with all the Sabres have at every level of the organization? |

Girgs, Jost, Okposo, Olo, Krebs can all go. There's 5 spots. Greenway is gone the next year, there's a 6th. I don't see any reason to stick to line roles, I'd be rolling 4 by next season. Give Tage defensive zone draws and keep him with Greenway to take pressure off the rest. If you need another top6 spot, because a kid turns into a world ender, then I'd have no problem trading Mitts while his value is at an all time high. |

Lot of puck hounds there, agreed. But we might actually get some secondary scoring. Levi and UPL, and the defense, will need to grow, but I think we can do some damage with a lineup like that. |

It's 3 spots, not 5, as Oloffson has no spot on the team now, and Jost is an extra forward.
Donnie pounded the table for Greenway, and they're going to cut ties after next season...?
Tage, Skinner, Tuch
Cozens, Peterka, Quinn
Greenway, Mittelstadt, Benson
Savoie, Kulich, Rosen
Krebs
Where does Turcotte fit in above?
Not even bringing up Ostlund and other forward prospects they have in addition to the ones I named. |
