Cap hit and Habs already use 2 out of 3 salary retention spots

I suspect they wanna save one of those for the TDL, if they can.

waive Primeau then

its not good for him

I would rather have a Montembault Primeau tandem myself, but this cant go on for months still

mtl gives too many chances right now with that defense, no goalies will make miracles night in and night out anyway

- deadpoulet

that doesn't mean they need to get rid of Allen...

not ideal for Primeau, but if the habs know they'll still lose him on waivers and they want to keep him then I'm not sure what the better solution would be.

not doing anything is not a solution, it will only hurt Primeau and their asset if they keep him on the bench

unless maybe they can work a deal and at least get a player for Primeau instead of losing him for nothing

they're probably still waiting for the right time to put Primeau on waivers, Vasilevskiy should be back soon loll...

besides I don't see why a team would trade for Primeau if they know he's gonna go through waivers.

they're probably gonna fire the coach, even if he might not be part of the problem, and that his replacement surely won't be able to save the group by himself either anyways...

Allen for Campbell and a 1st (maybe more)

for EDM they save 1.2M on the cap, get rid of a bad contract, acquire a better goalie.
for MTL they can send Campbell to Laval and ride Monty/Primeau. yes they have a 5M goalie in Laval, but they can call him up in case of an injury, not a chance they will lose him on waivers lol. and they get a 1st round pick. they could decide to keep Campbell in Laval for a few years as a backup plan, or buy him out in June.
