they have to make progress, they wont go from 25 to cup contender

I still think that d corps is too green, but if this is how they wanted them to learn...

- deadpoulet

the goalies were playing above their head, hiding a lot of defensive problems. Things will settle, D group is VERY young. Small step forwards is what I expect

Losing Savard didn't help.

sure, but it was too green even with him

they give a lot of chances and spend a lot of time in their zone. Thats why I kept saying they needed to add a vet on d to help them out.

Allen is the main reason for that good start (sorry Fido). Along with Monahan I would say.

The vets like Gallagher, Pearson, Matheson and Savard all helped this young team, a lot.

I dont think Allen can keep this up but what could help him is if Montembault and or Primeau get some starts as well

other than that, they should keep Slaf with Suzuki and Caufield for a while

Josh Anderson can kiss my ass

Josh will bounce back.

But the "fit" between him and St-Louis doesn't look that obvious.

really? looks pretty good to me. yes he can't buy a goal, but he never was a prolific scorer. he does show up and play hard most of the time, much more often than he usually did imo.

I guess

but he was part of that 2nd line that was going nowhere and he was the vet on it

Yes, he has been getting a lof of chances and drawing penalties at times

but if you cant put any points games after games, on a 10 games period or so, maybe you should be taking off the top 6 or first wave pp

Or leave him there to get him going.

trading him while his value is at its lowest wouldn't be ideal.

I agree with keeping him there, but the Andy/Newhook/Slaf line wasn't working, and they weren't showing signs of improvement, so changes were needed.

Where does Bergevin work these days? Only guy who would take that contract on.

Defensively he's going to need to take some huge strides.

It says he missed 1 game not a few.

I'm just saying I've seen some Cale Makar references to him but I'd think more Sam Girard than Makar.

- manvanfan

And I say he gonna be in between those 2, question is : closer to whom

he wouldn't fetch much in return but there's surely much more interest than what you're implying, he isn't Ryan Reaves lol.

also, Chiarelli might be hired by the senators soon, so...

His value hasn't changed at all.

GMs and scouts know what he brings to the table

I disagree, his slow start to the season gives more leverage to other teams and entices them to not give up anything interesting for him, while if he was traded while he was on a hot streak at the TDL he would fetch much more.

10 bad games don't make a career.

With that said, Habs should go get 0.500 of the points this week!

Yes, but Anderson, a known streaky player, having a stretch of games without points isn't gonna change what people think of him. If it were to last 20 more games, then of course he'd start being tagged as a potential reclamation project.

Just like I'm sure you still think Johnny Gaudreau isn't that bad at hockey.

You would. Take his games against the Leafs out of the equation and he's a borderline 4th liner!

I agree and get what you're saying, but it still isn't optimal for the habs imho if they were to trade him now, as opposed to going into negotiations while he's on a good production pace.
