I dont think they need to do anything
there are just two more games until a week off, just get through them and get some rest
starting friday, Hartford has 6 games in like 8 days
just let Othmann get all that playing time in - jimbro83
Agreed. Just wish Jones wasn't in. He showed some flash offensively, but that defense..... ugh

Pretty good game last night, other than those couple minutes in the 3rd. Cullye is looking better and better each game. Panarin needs to save some for the playoffs Laf looks like a new player. Zib was much more noticeable offensively last night.
Quick has been really good, despite the rough preseason. Apparently he is really liked and amazing in the locker room according to that interview with Trochek last night. - mdw7413
Yeah, I got that impression from someone else's interview a week or two ago, as well.
Maybe it was just a veteran treating the preseason like a light warm up??? |

KK is very slow?? I think you are watching the wrong player. - Brukie
Kris kreider is fast. Kaapo kakko is not. You can scoff at the charts but they’re based on actual numbers and not just vibes.
He doesn’t have to be fast to be good. Plenty of great players show up at the bottom of that list. This is just a continuation of a response to you saying wheeler is even slower than kakko. |

I'll give you the 2nd one, that first one was on him... live look at that play and the forward going to the net and Jones defense

I don't consider KK slow. His style of play just isn't based on speed and that is an adjustment he needs to make to some extent, 'cause this league is for burners.
As for that chart, yes it's based on numbers. But, it isn't based on situational play, so it is inherently flawed. Like someone joked, Wheeler seems (at least right now) to be skating his fastest after he is already out of position. He took back to back penalties last night because he couldn't stay with his man and had to impede him. That is a clear sign that he's not fast enough regardless of what the numbers say. |

The result is the same whether they are incapable of skating faster or if they just don’t skate faster because of how they play. None of this has anything to do with which player is better. Just that wheeler wasn’t going to slow the line down any more or less than kakko because they both are either a) physically allow or b) just play a slower game
If that makes sense |

The second one was all him. Jones was standing right in front of the net and let Kostin undress him. In a situation where Quick is probably expecting Jones to step up on Kostin, Jones just stood there and watched. Im not sure though what a 5'9, 170lb Zac Jones is going to do to a 6'4, 230lb Kostin... but hes gotta get in the way. |

It totally makes sense. My point was that if choosing between "has the speed, but needs to learn to use it" and "no longer has the speed," I choose the former. |

The 2nd goal happens because Schneider whifs along the boards and the Jones is left covering two people.
I have no problem piling on players and the Rangers. After Minnesota, both Jones and Schneider deserved it. Last night, Jones was fine. Little slow on the change for the 3rd goal so that was on him. |

People may be forgetting Kakko played on a larger ice surface and when watching is game, it is based on finesse possession. Now that he is in the NHL, the ice is smaller, the boys are bigger so he needs to learn to be quicker with his finesse plays in smaller spaces. Hence why it 'appears' he is slow. In my opinion he is still learning his spots. Last year he showed flashes of good forecheck and possession but lack of finish..I believe it's the adjustment of his game to the NHL. And with that, that adjustment may mean his style translates to less offensive numbers. Id bet you anything if he returns on larger ice his numbers go up. |

I can't wait until Chytil comes back. That lines was good when he was snake bitten. Not Laf and Panarin are in a groove. hopefully that sparks Fil. |

In the highlight package from ESPN I saw this morning (because I couldn't find any other...) it showed pretty clearly that on the 2nd goal, Jones is in front of the net well before the puck-carrier gets there. But, he tries to turn clockwise to get his stick to the weak side. His stick got caught up on Quick and he effectively did nothing. Had he spun toward the puck, he may have disrupted the play. Unfortunate ending, but that should be something they can instruct him on and bring some improvement. |

If you watched the game last night, most of the time Mikas line entered the zone CK20 was with him, Wheeler wasnt anywhere near them. KK game is possession, he carries the puck and makes plays, Wheelers game is just non existent. |

the screen is set by Kostin. Rasmussen is taking the shot. Jones is defending Fischer. not sure what more you want him to do. - blacksheep1
Then it was the 2nd goal. The one where the forward drove to the net and Jones didn't do anything. |

I know they are not ready yet, but berard and sykora on the 4th line would be a big boost for this team speed wise. Hopefully next year |
