It was the same thing if we bought him out this past offseason
- picklerick

one problem with it is that the 2026-27 season, Goodrow's cap hit would be 3.5 million with the buyout, and that's the summer Connor McDavid becomes a UFA

but Panarin and Trouba come off the books at end of 2025-26 season, and cap should be much higher

if McDavid makes it to UFA the Rangers will stop at nothing to get it done

Leafs might have something to say about that.

That's the thing, I know he's gonna be terrible and the last time he was involves in games vs the Rangers. He won 3 against. You know he's gonna be bad tonight.

He could get close to 20 million a year on the open market, and it would still be a bargain

yep, but I just can't see it possible that McDavid wants to spend his whole career in Edmonton, I think he'll eventually go somewhere

Based on the morning skate, it looks like Domingue and Garand will dress tonight. I don't see Igor out there. #NYR

Does Igor play soccer in the off-season???
A report on NHL.com says he practiced fully yesterday, but it still out tonight with "minor soreness?"

I mean the Rangers are kinda famous for lying about injuries. So I gotta assume the issue is more than minor with Igor.

Edit: and given how much we've seen of Igor wanting to compete for every puck, I'm not gonna question his work ethic/toughness.

LOL it sounds like he is okay and could even likely start IF NEEDED TO. But, we are 9-2-1 and we have a week off after Sunday. Why rush things when they have the leisure of taking it slow and making sure he is fully 100%?!

Compete level and work ethic, without a doubt. But, we've seen that he is an absolute drama queen when he gets touched. I'm not sure about the toughness.
Do not take this to mean that I don't absolutely LOVE having Igor in our net. Just wish he'd grin and bear it sometimes.

I don’t see the Capitals being interested in eating money on a guy they would have to eat next year too. If Oshie was a pending UFA yeah for sure. But he’s got another year.
- jimbro83

If the Rangers somehow got Oshie ( not a fan of the move ) I would LOVE to see them send Lindgren to the airport to pick him up!
