It’s not our biggest issue. It almost feels like you’re arguing upgrading the 4th line should never be a concern because they shouldn’t be required to do much though. But if your fourth line being the worst in the league isn’t enough to make a change, what is? - picklerick
I’m not arguing anything lol I’m just saying that because they’re (Bonino and Goodrow) so adept at penalty killing, I don’t see them as a problem at all. And what they do 5 on 5 is kind of gravy imo.
They’re plus 1 between them, as long as they don’t give up goals I really don’t mind them. I’d rather have a great PK (which we do) over a great 4th line
Hate them idgaf haha 😂 |

Goodrow contract becoming an issue bc 4th liners making $800k are the easiest positions to fill in a hard cap league. Rangers need a RW to play with kreider/zib. Wheeler should be in the press box. And kakko is playing his way out of town if he does not get his poop together - nyrangers2
We can talk about goodrow til we’re blue in the face but he isn’t going anywhere 🤷🏻♂️maybe they’ll buy him out but I think they would’ve done that already.
Wheeler has definitely been better the last week or so. Really since the Winnipeg game he’s been more noticeable
Kakko idk man. I’m afraid to trade him but I’m afraid to watch him at the same time lol he’s doing nothing out there, absolutely nothing |

I don’t hate any of them individually, but Panarin can’t play 28 min a night. Laf played 24, trocheck, 26, zib 23, kreider 21. Gotta be able to rely on your 4th line a LITTLE more than that

Fox and Gustafsson could be similar to Leetch and Zubov- let's not fuck it up this time. |

Anyone down for a Zucc reunion if the Wild start to fade? I know he carries a 6mill contract with one more year left. Not sure how we could fit his cap in but maybe something to explore |

To me last nights line rolling was more of they have 5 days off now and let the big boys play til they pass out. They needed a goal and finally got it. Normally I agree with you tho.
I think you want the perfect team which is fine I do too. Bonino is type of guy that will score a playoff OT goal and we’ll forget how bad he is 5 on 5. I’m trying to give Kakko a pass playing with him, it’s hard tho |

No forward averages more than 20 minutes a night.
To that end, I agree a more effective 4th line helps prevent TIO's from going up however an addition to one area may take away from another. That is why Laviolette is getting paid by the organization and not us.

Why pay goodrow $3.625m a year when you could pay Casey cizikas $15m over 6 years to talk poop about your own fan base

They’re both overpaid 4th liners. Cizikas less overpaid and a member of the rival islanders. Just got big mad at isles fans chanting to fire lane lambert. Obviously a hilarious attempt at a joke. I’ll go cry now |

I think teams value intangibles way more than fans do. Like locker room stuff. Specifically in Goodrows case, but I think that’s why he gets paid so much tbh. At that time they really needed someone like him around. They’ve been able to work around his contract fairly well. And again, pre pandemic signing is a factor. The cap would be hire without that nonsense hanging over the leagues head |

I don’t think so was he?
Maybe they’ll buy him out in the summer. Just seems like they had the perfect opportunity to do so this past summer
Edit. You’re right lol I still think they signed him for reasons we don’t agree with. Is what it is |
