It’s that 3rd year that stings. I do agree with you tho I’m ok buying him out, I just don’t see it happening like TPC said they had a golden opportunity to do it - Slimtj100
Wanted him bought out and then bring back Tarensenko on that one year deal he got. Long shot yes but man would have been perfect |

I see your point, TJ. And maybe I am. I just think that they are so good together that if they were playing that way, they would all have better 5v5 numbers. KK hasn't been a defensive liability and he's not taking a bunch of penalties, so I don't feel he's so bad that he would prevent those 2 from success. So, in my mind, it must be true that 93 and 20 are not playing up to their usual standards either.
I see it as a matter of time for the trio and I just hate the idea that they may be broken up before that time comes.
I will move on now, because I'm sure some here have tired of this subject. - Tonybere
The three of them don’t work well together, it’s not the end of the world. I’d agree with you if they got chances but they barely sniff much of anything out there. Vatrano was the best linemate they’ve had imo and he’s a completely different player then Kakko is. This is also why I think Othmann will be good there because he plays like Vatrano did, fast and can shoot. Frankie is the one error in judgement I wish they kept around. His salary isn’t outlandish |

Agreed. They’ve just had them mismatched imo on lines. I think should work. GG wouldn’t have waiting as long I’ll tell you that |

I don't like Jones, but lets face it, that was brutal spot, he hadn't played in awhile, the whole team is gassed after all these road games and the Wild were controlling the matchups putting out Kaprizov whenever Jones was out there |

Jones is too small I don’t get why he’s in, harp is at least a tower to get past. Pylon or not he makes it a bit more difficult to deal with as an opposing player |

Probably erring on the side of offense with Foxy out.
Doesn't matter if you can't get the puck from the other team, though. |

They probably should’ve traded him a year or two ago when no one knew he couldn’t hang. Nils is the same thing, although he’s doing a bit better than Zac is. Similar body types tho, and unless your gifted like Fox, it’s very difficult to be in the NHL for smallish dman, unlike forwards
Something radical would be to see if he can play forward lol he does have some skill with the puck and offensively |

PL on switching out Kakko for Wheeler on the top line:
"If you're not getting the results that you're looking for from a 5v5 standpoint... you look at what maybe you could do to see if it gives it a different look. More than anything, I just wanted to change the scenery."

I give Kreids a pass on that line. He doesn't drive play, except the occasional break away. Zib is the issue right now, he drives that line. When Zib is on, he goes from our defensive zone into the offensive zone with great stick handling and speed. The good thing about that line is they are defensively great, but they need to start contributing offensively. Yes Kakko hasn't been good, but for me Zib is the issue right now |

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Good way to describe, give me a different look. I know he’s older now and probably a less effective version, but Wheeler is at least used to being on a top line. He’s been that guy his whole career for the most part. Just not the right time for Kakkos role yet. I imagine this was a plan to begin with when Wheeler signed. See how it goes and you may be in the top 6 eventually |

Yeah I was pissed. That was game they lose in the 2022 playoffs or game they lost last year. Laviolette did what I wanted to him to do and called the time out after the 2nd wild goal. Loss was very much on the players. (Some excluded from blame.) |

That’s with some big guys really struggling. I think the minnisota game they went into it running on fumes and still managed a point.

Wheeler will be the anchor on that line, literally. If you thought KK was slow, Wheeler will make KK look like a speed demon.
I dont have much hope for Wheeler to work out on the first line. |
