Wings will be down 2-0 after the first period. You can probably bank on it. They've had horrible starts the last 5 games. Always playing catch up and it won't work against the Rangers. Hope I'm wrong. This game will be a good test for the Wings. Hope they don't get embarrassed. Goaltending and team defense are still an issue that need to be fixed.

Also, I don't disagree with what Laviolette is doing here. Kakko wasn't doing much at all with the opportunity and he may feel more comfortable down the lineup without any pressure (not ideal for us fans being hes a #2 OA pick). I just question if Wheeler is the guy thats going to bring that line any mojo. I would have tried Cuylle first, but hey theres a reason PL is head coach and I'm a slob talking about their lines on a hockey blog with you guys They definitely have the leisure to toy with the line until something clicks. However, that can change soon depending on what happens over the next month with all of these injuries.

At this point, let's just call up Hollowell and see what he's got. I don't think Jones brings any value to the team and is a total liability more often than not

My point is that we are eating cap space by having Brodzinski's $762,500 and Jones' $800,000 on the books, but at the same time, we are saving way more with Fox's $9.5M off the books. It should be net positive.
