It would be great if Ek could add a few additional features, which were standard on most chat sites in 2011:
- Upvoting and downvoting individual posts
- Option to not see posts that have been downvoted to oblivion
- Option to not see individual posters.
This place would be soooooooo much better.
- Atomic Wedgie
If you get enough downvotes your account automatically goes onto troll island for a period of time. |

This game has a potential to get messy tonight. Sens are a desperate team super emotional right now and their captain is a dink of a player (good effective player but has no respect of the game).
Good news is this could drag the Leafs into an emotional response and they would benefit huge from that now and hopefully it sticks…there will more than likely be a test of the ‘new response’ they had a meeting about.
Domi gets involved in big way tonight & Leafs get into the mucky muck and take it tonight. |

From last blog:
I know this is from yesterday and work has had me . . . working - jerks - but this is something I have been puzzled by.
So we have Malhotra who is the "eyes in the sky", and Boucher who is running the PP. We have Chynoweth running the PK and Van Ryn running the D.
That's my understanding the breakdown of things. Spencer Carberry left and they replaced him with Boucher - but they also added Van Ryn.
So now our defensive approach is managed by two different people with two potentially different ideas. When Dean Chynoweth was hired, he came from Carolina as an assistant who had helped run their league leading defense - and our shots against for the past couple of years under Chynoweth were 10th and 6th (having been 19th and 5th in the two years prior to his arrival - and I take that 5th with a grain of salt, as it's from the Canadian COVID division). This year with Van Ryn running the D, our 5v5 Shots Against are 19th.
A career ending injury to Muzzin, father time creeping up on Gio and Brodie, and even injuries have thrown the defense into a bit of a blender with Lajoie, Benoit and Lagesson already taking regular shifts after just 10 games. There are some excuses for the poorer performance - but the overall structure of that D is so highly questionable that I don't think it's fair to expect a top-10 D.
But it does beg the question: Why was Mike Van Ryn hired if Chynoweth was doing a good job - and secondly why was it Mike Van Ryn? He was an assistant in St. Louis from 2018-2023 - and they won a cup in his first year. Since the Blues did nothing but get worse year-over-year on D since Van Ryn arrived as their assistant in charge of defense, it stands to reason he inherited a good structure and proceeded to make it worse over his tenure.
That's my whipping boy in the coaching staff. And it's easy because I always hated him as a player, too. McCabe and a 4th for Van Ryn. F You, Cliff Fletcher. - Monkeypunk
To be fair, McCabe was making almost 2x as much as Van Ryn with 3 more years at 5.9 AAV. He was also 4 years older and was 33 at the time of the deal.
I liked McCabe but he was constantly in trade rumours and, without his famous can opener, was pretty poop defensively,
Van Ryn ended up getting a career ending injury after only playing with the Leafs for 27 games. It would have been interesting to see if he would have been any good over the course of his contract (he had 2 years remaining @ 2.9M) and was 29 when he was forced to retire.
To wit: Fletcher made some bonehead trades but this, in retrospect, wasn't one of his more egregious deals. |

DJ says he’s worried the Sens time off might lead to a “little overthinking”.
Seems legit |

I wouldn’t hire Keefe to be a 3rd base coach. |

If they were smart and paying attention this week they should know not to go up 3-1 or 4-1 against the Leafs tonight. |

Mitch and PAPI good for 7 pts combined tonight.
The two superstars gonna drag them to a victory.
The middle six is cooling off, well, the second line is.
Maybe Domi and Knies show up tonight.

I have a weird and unshakeable belief in Domi. I can't explain it. I want the little bastard to succeed as a Leaf. It seems fitting.

I wanna see the Domi hate blossom in a new generation and continue the long storied history of beatdowns dished out by a guy named Domi wearing a Leafs jersey. Do his dad proud : climb out of the penalty box and punch a rival fan.

Lol. That was a great moment.
Max needs to chart his own path, and I think he’s sorta gained a reputation as a guy who can’t stick with a single team. For reasons unknown. He clearly has hockey skills, and does a lot of good things. He’ll never be a fighter tho. He just knows how to chuck em. |

This should be an interesting game. Plenty of storylines on both sides of the puck. Might just be the best BoO we have had in a while. |
