I don't know if there is a better feeling than getting to yell at the leaving early Lightning fans, with, "Rats!...rats, on a sinking ship!"

followed by the ENTIRE words to DAY OH, there goofy audience pleaser, with my on key rendition, of "...Daylight come and YOU wanna go home!

The hawks were never going to be the team with WORST record...SJ, and there are other more or as terrible as they are.

It was a stretch where Tampa crapped their pants and got complacent and stopped playing and were watching, but were better most of the time. Mzarek is playing out his ass , better than hew has in his CAREER imo.

Hawks may screw up and not have the worst record this year.

You never know about the lottery outcome. But I would feel really bad if San Jose does not get the first choice.

The fourth selection overall would be a really great outcome for the Blackhawks. Have to like even the third best forward or top dman to choose among.

The above would be more likely an outcome from fortunate lottery than we actually had the fourth worse record. But we might actually wind up with fourth worse record - let us see how we are standing come roughly Jan 1 '24 as half way mark of season is near and we may discern better how the finish might turn out.

It'd be nice to get a top 2 pick but as past drafts show there are good players to be had everywhere in the 1st round, every year.

Like last year when we finished 3rd worst, even though we won the lotto, don't try to control your fate, the kids need to develop, vets need to lead by example and scouting department better be doing their homework and prepared. If that leads to drafting later in the 1st round then that's the way it is.

Just glad we aren't in the pacific division otherwise we might be drafting in the teens.

Do you think that KD would be willing to trade his veteran goaltender at the trade deadline for a #2 in 2024.?

If he found a sucker...but why would the team with the 2nd overall consider it, unless the Oilers tank and did it b/c they are nuts?

Not as far as I am thinking...The top two are elite, and I ma not sure the Belarusian RD is going to walk-in before our other RD Rinzel,
Sure, you could take a bigger defender, one of the LD, but they do not appeal as the type of offensive defender they need...they would need a #43 the 3rd Hughes brother-type there at slot #3 to like it as a selection, a guy who despite needing so much improvement as defender, he skates well enough, is big enough, and can play the first power player from the Right point.

I just don't like the uncertainty to a Ivan Demidov North American introduction date, and the same with the big LD Russian, Anton Silayev, and there seems truly to be something to his game at both ends, and it is tantalizing to think we could have another giant mobile backliner, but this prospect group lacks a big boy upfront and there isn't one I would reach for, that is why I want one to the two top forwards. Thy go to college, and then find their way to Chicago soon and aren't going to be backstopping to long term developmental guys but guys who will be offensive generators and scorers.
